This couple of years delay every couple of years has brought us or more precisely the IAF to the state it is in today. In principle even if there were any doubts on the future of the F-414 being mfgd in India , the MoU should've cleared that .

We're weighing time against a couple of thousand crores in development here which incidentally has already been cleared by the CCS . It's only that the amount hasn't been disbursed. Which is why your statement that they're awaiting the signature on the agreement looks suspect .
Delay has been because of indecisiveness on part of stake holders earlier on.
As of today, the decision is clear on what we want. The delay is in attaining the goal on our terms. So it is far better then making a deal which is not future proof.
Anyway, look at this news.

@stat231 they are going to use Ge F414 engine. I don't think co-development of New engine is linked to AMCA development sanction. Otherwise, hv to forgot AMCA untill 2040.

Private industry will come for production. Developing AMCA is ADA/DRDO job. Then some parts maybe technology transfer to private like lca mk1a.
I don't understand your Modus Operandi aka MO , tbh . Why don't you quote your sources here ?

The article is self contradictory, if the centre has removed the conditionality clause, why can't the work begin on LCA MK2 till US Congress clears the engine deal?

So you want to fly Mk2 with just an engine?
