Delay has been because of indecisiveness on part of stake holders earlier on.This couple of years delay every couple of years has brought us or more precisely the IAF to the state it is in today. In principle even if there were any doubts on the future of the F-414 being mfgd in India , the MoU should've cleared that .
We're weighing time against a couple of thousand crores in development here which incidentally has already been cleared by the CCS . It's only that the amount hasn't been disbursed. Which is why your statement that they're awaiting the signature on the agreement looks suspect .
As of today, the decision is clear on what we want. The delay is in attaining the goal on our terms. So it is far better then making a deal which is not future proof.
Anyway, look at this news.
