As long as you can get a signal the speed is good. The problem is getting a signal. It uses the same high frequencies as WiMAX which ended up losing out to LTE as the standard for that very reason. If they can't get 5G at low frequencies it will end only serving large cities with high population concentrations.5G tech is in its infancy. Just watch YouTube videos of tech vloggers trying out 5G - the range and speed is very finnicky - it seems 5G requires antenna in every street.
I think telcos in India should concentrate on importing 4G LTE speed
Don't know about vodafone but Airtel is reviving itself.Airtel and Vodafone don't have money for competing for 5G . Jio is pushing everyone out of the market . Soon airtel and Vodafone may have to close down and jio will be the only player in the market.
How jio has done this? By giving its subscribers better deal than others . But once it becomes the only player with no one else left for subscribers to turn to when it decides to increase the rates , it will turn the rates up hugely and become quite costly.
5G model is for urban areas and countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Japan and other developed nations.. If they can't get 5G at low frequencies it will end only serving large cities with high population concentrations.
5G at low frequencies is not feasible. Reason: High Speed and millions of users. To provide speeds in gigabits, and that too to millions of users within few kilometers of area without congestion, higher frequency is a must.As long as you can get a signal the speed is good. But Jio is a proxy for PRC telcos like Huawei which in turn is proxy for PLA.GOI should ban PRC telcos out of national security concerns.Airtel and Vodafone don't have money for competing for 5G . Sorry to disappoint, but things don't work like that anymore. Jio isn't proxy of anyone but reliance itself, rather other PRC telecoms like Huawei, Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, OnePlus etc and non-PRC telecoms like Samsung and Apple are in an alliance with Jio to use each other's framework and cater to the needs of Indian customers, that's all.But Jio is a proxy for PRC telcos like Huawei which in turn is proxy for PLA.GOI should ban PRC telcos out of national security concerns.
Dude, I get close to 10Mbps on jio and 20Mbps on Airtel 4G real time download speeds being 1-2 MBPS and 1-3MBPS respectively. The maximum speed of 4g I have experienced is 1.5 Mbps on Jio and 2 Mbps on Idea.
