Trudeau & Chinese Prime Minister; the two least covered leaders at G-20

Trudeau lost his bright media coverage and the Chinese premier was not even covered by the local and foreign media at G-20.

In fact the media spotlight belonged to President Biden and of course to the host, the Prime Minister Modi.

Trudeau lost his fizz when his divorce/Separation became a public knowledge. Since then his opponent, the Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is steadily gaining on him. In spite of bad publicity he began his trip to Indo-Pacific. Local Canadian media just reported his landing and take off from the country, nothing more. His arrival in Delhi was just covered with courtesy and diplomatic niceties and nothing more. To make the matter worst, he just cancelled trade talks with India, just before he departed on his tour………Bad move……Also, he was expecting Khalistanis to offer him big welcome. None were allowed within miles of the G-20 venue. Locally in Canadian media he became a low ranking news. The official CBC covered his landing in Delhi without usual commentary. These are bad days for Trudeau.

We have no idea how is Chinese Premier visit is being reported back home. In India he was almost no news.

The main spotlight was on Biden. It is almost certain that India’s expectations from Biden are big. Other person with spotlight was the British Prime Minister. He was dubbed as “Son in Law of India”. Also with signing of document in which Saudi Arabia will open itself as a transit corridor from Indian Ocean to Europe made Saudi Crown Prince popular in India.

Other leaders also did well to catch the media spot light.

Rana Ayyub’s “opinion” piece on Modi in The Guardian - likely penned before the G20 began. She will surely be seething at G20’s success.

Interestingly The Guardian is offering to to publish a 300 word rebuttal. Could someone from this forum or elsewhere pen a factual rebuttal please.

“Do you have an opinion on the issues raised in this article? If you would like to submit a response of up to 300 words by email to be considered for publication in our letters section, please click here.”

Till Next decade India needs Modi at helm, BJP is too fractured to concede to any replacement of Modi.

White house statement on the proposed economic corridor

*New Railway routes
*Existing ports
*Linking of energy grids
*Laying of undersea cables
*pipeline for clean hydrogen export

Doesn’t seem like infrastructure wise the route needs more than couple of freight rail lines from Dubai to Israel.
Politically lets hope things will move quickly.

India can save substantial shipping costs and time to trade with all Western nations(From 10-40%) in some cases.

Indian companies should be easy winners of laying down the freight lines only issue seems infrastructure wise is capacities of ports substantial births will be required to increase the capacity and some preferential treatment for Indian freight.

Politically too many moving parts if some hot action happens in Middle east even away from route the traders wont risk the shipments through land route and will go back to Suez.
