Intermittent fasting actually benefits the body. There is a difference though. Dieting, as many see it, is restriction of the calorie intake. This, IMHO, is a wrong approach. Instead of restricting calories, one should take in the normal calorie intake that a person requires, and burn it off...

Yes, that is the concept of Upanishads, where students would learn at the feet of the teacher. Another way to look at it is, that one needs to have patience to master an art (or science), and for that, one needs to try to the best of his ability to avoid getting distracted or discouraged by...

Slightly off-topic. Arrogance stems from two things. One is that a person is such a master of his trade, and everything that is rocket science for a commoner, seems obvious to him. So, when someone asks a question to such a person, he might get annoyed at the sheer "stupidity" of the question...

I used to play soccer. The first time I had an injury was at a soccer field. I recovered after about a week. Then I had the same thing in the other leg, after about a year. I recovered again. Then, I stopped playing soccer, although I do play occasionally, but I do run, regularly. I use...

I have this pesky habit of asking for references. The link by @genius was an interesting read. I saw it referred to researchers. So, I pointed out that the article lacks any link or reference to any research. Perhaps the truth is somewhere in the middle. P.S.: No, I don't have flat feet.

Wow. This is interesting. So, juicers who do not exercise still gain muscle. So, non-exercising juicers will still gain 50% more muscle than natural builders, but will only gain 10% more strength. No wonder they say, no pain, no gain. P.S.: The article mentioned researchers. A link to that...

Not everyone has strong abs, but if one works out hard enough to lose that belly fat, it will not only help cut down the fat, it will also develop those abs. True. Guess how they get big so quickly? It is steroids. Steroid alone cannot give a good physique. It needs to be coupled with heavy...

Awesome. That is also a good thing to do. Good luck man. We do have kick-boxing at my gym, but I never joined. I used to do sledge-hammers though. It's pretty fun. Good luck with martial arts. That builds strength and reflexes.

Most models who feature in the magazine spreads actually go through a week of calibrated food intake with lots of cardio, which burns up a lot of fat rapidly, thus exposing the 6 or 8 packs. Once the photo-shoot is done, they go back to their normal routine, i.e. working out well, and eating...

Everyone has abs. Some have really strong abs. The trick is to lose that layer of fat to expose those abs. Now, what works for one person, might not work for the other. What are your goals? Get a good trainer, and take his advice.

That's tough man. I wouldn't even attempt it. I have a mild Achilles Heel on both legs, yet, with God's grace, I manage 3 miles in 30 minutes, without a break. I think I am doing fine, given that I have a full time decent paying job. :biggrin2:

@Razor, Wide grip pull-ups tend to help lats more than narrow grip pull-ups. You are doing a good job with 49 in 30 minutes. If you need advice, I recommend YouTube channel of Scooby1961.
