Zhuk AESA is not very mature, they're still working on improving it. I'd take the RBE-2 PESA over it any day. That said, MiG-35 never qualified for MMRCA requirements, therefore could not make the shortlist. Other disadvantages are in the field of maintenance/life-cycle costs of the airframe...
