You don't have formidable defences? Unless you can send a huge fleet with at least 6 aircraft carriers as US navy planned.

do you wish to say about battle of midway??this happened in ww2,where there is no formidable air defences.and that too with a well laid plan after breaking japanese codes.had there been such concept china would have used it against the us carrier which came close to china during china-taiwan tussle.

DF-21D is for USN which is planning to send at least 6 carriers with 90 airplanes on each of them. The goal of DF21D is not to sink these boats but keeping them out of battle area.
For India 2 small carriers with totally no more than 120 planes, we prefer sinking them straight away.

How can these frigates focus on air-defence when they are attacked by submarines?
