Houthis are not in full control where as the legitimate Government of Yemen backed by Arab nations and the Alliance are having upper hand and they are moving forward. Houthis Leader Abdullah Saleh have been killed in the war which has decimated the Houthis and even there are reports are houthis are giving up the fight in large numbers. GCC Airfroce will directly target the Houthis missile arsenal who are backed by the Iranians and Syrians, where as the Eritrea is already kept quiet as the UN Sanctions were placed on the Eritrean Government for arming warlords inside Somalia and the Somalian warlords have stopped fighting long time back. Sudan has recently did agreements with the Turkish Establishment for the port.

Houthis doesnt have airforce , Iranian airforce doesnt operate in Yemen Airforce. Syrian Baath party is there just because of the Russian Forces on the ground. Iraq is like completely liberated. Blockade seems have been already placed on Suez Canal.

Abdullah Saleh is from houthis and Houthis are even called as Zaidis and they are similar like Alvis of Syria.

Bab e Zaidi are Houthis , Bab e Alvis are the Assad clan, Bab e Bahai are in Israel and then we are having Bab e Azadi. Here Iraqi tribes are even there but they believe in Ahle bait similar like Hezbullah of Lebanon and these tribes are from Banu Tamim similar like the Ikhawan of Saudi Arabia and GCC.

Houthis/Zaidis, Alvis of Syria and the newly invented Bahai of Israel and then the Naziris are linked with Russian Federation and China . And here we are dealing with Military alliance which is on the cold war pattern.

Al Shabab of Somalia are being assisted by the Eritrean Government and Eritrean Government is having good relations with Russian Federation and UN Sanctions were placed on Eritrea for arming Al Shabab. The same we are seeing in Nigeria and South Sudan. Sudan and Chad have sorted out thier differences. Somalia and Kenya are working for political settlement for the gas reserves.

Indians are well aware that we are having dispute with the Chinese and Pakistanis and they are actively involved in all these regions along with Russian Federation and CSTO. There is a wider war going on and in reality cold war has not ended.

ADEN: The chief of staff of the Yemeni army has been injured by a land mine that went off while he was visiting the northern Al-Jouf province, where heavy fighting between government forces and Houthi fighters is underway, a senior government official said.

The official said Brig. Gen. Taher Al-Aqeeli suffered minor injuries in the explosion, which happened on Friday while he was inspecting government positions in Khub wa Al-Sha’af, the largest district in Al-Jouf province.
Forces loyal to exiled President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi’s government captured most of the district in heavy fighting with the Houthis last month.

Anti-Houthi forces, backed by a Saudi-led coalition, have intensified an offensive against the Iran-aligned group that controls most of northern Yemen since former President Ali Abdullah Saleh was killed after he switched sides in Yemen’s nearly three-year-old civil war.

The Houthis, who killed Saleh after they surrounded his compound in Sanaa, accused the former president of trying to sow sedition in the country. Saleh’s General People’s Congress party accused the Houthis of trying to monopolize running the country.

The Houthis said Al-Aqeeli and several of his aides were injured in the blast, describing Aqeeli’s injuries as serious.

Hadi appointed Al-Aqeeli last September, replacing Major General Mohammed Al-Maqdeshi, who was appointed as a presidential adviser.

Meanwhile in Yemen ...

media writes that the Husits again launched tactical (short-range ballistic missiles) missiles at the forces of the coalition in Saudi Arabia, this time 2 pieces. One in the Wahib camp, in the province of Nagran (the border South of the Kingdom), which the coalition forces successfully shot down and the second in the camp in the province of Asher (probably also the southern part), which was able to reach the target. According to unconfirmed reports there are dead and wounded, significant damage to the infrastructure of the camp.

Yemen has fallen into civil war in 2014

SANAA, Yemen

Seven Houthi rebels were killed Monday in clashes with government forces in Yemen’s southwestern Taiz province, according to the official SABA news agency.

SABA, citing a military source, said clashes broke out between the two sides in al-Dabab district in western Taiz in which five rebels were killed.

Two other rebels were killed in an ambush set by government forces in Maqbanah district west of the province, the agency said.

The claim could not be independently verified.

Yemen has fallen into civil war in 2014, when the Shia Houthi militia overran much of the country, including capital Sanaa, forcing the internationally-recognized government to set up an interim capital in the coastal city of Aden.

In 2015, Saudi Arabia and its Sunni-Arab allies launched a massive military campaign aimed at reversing Houthi gains and shoring up the Yemeni government.

CAIRO: Family members and a detainee say Yemeni security forces this week opened fire on detainees in the southern port city of Aden, wounding 12.

According to the detainee and two family members visiting their jailed kin, the incident took place on Sunday in the Beir Ahmed 2 detention center. The facility is part of an anti-terror campaign which set up a network of secret prisons to hold hundreds of terror detainees.

The detainee, one of the 12 wounded, told The Associated Press on Wednesday that the soldiers opened fire to halt a protest by the detainees against restrictions on closer contact with visitors.

Both the detainee and the relatives spoke on condition of anonymity because they fear retribution from prison authorities.

Believed dead, ex-president's nephew shows up in Yemen

Nephew of slain former president had been reported killed last month at hands of Yemen’s Houthi militia group

11.01.2018

By Murad al-Arifi
SANAA

Tariq Saleh, nephew of Yemen’s slain former President Ali Abdullah Saleh, showed up on Thursday in the city of Ataq in Yemen’s central Shabwa province, belying reports that he had been killed last month, according to a Yemeni government source.

The source, who spoke to Anadolu Agency anonymously due to security concerns, said Tariq had arrived in Ataq accompanied by members of an elite pro-government force backed by the United Arab Emirates.

“Tariq Saleh visited the home of a local tribal leader while members of the UAE-backed force secured the residence,” the source said.

Saudi-led coalition warplanes, meanwhile, flew over Ataq to protect Tariq’s convoy after he arrived in the city to offer condolences to the family of Arif al-Zouka, the head of the slain president’s General People's Congress (GPC), who was also reportedly killed by Houthi militiamen last month.

In December, local media reported that Tariq had been killed -- alongside al-Zouka and his uncle, the former president -- by Houthi militiamen south of capital Sanaa.

Ali Abdullah Saleh, who served as Yemen’s president from 1990 to 2012, had earlier been considered an ally of the Houthis but had appeared to have had a falling out with the group shortly before his death last month.

Yemen has been dogged by violence since 2014, when the Houthis -- backed at the time by forces loyal to Saleh’s GPC -- overran much of the country, including Sanaa.

Arab coalition raids destroy operations room and weapons cache in Yemen’s Al-Bayda

ARAB NEWS | Published — Sunday 14 January 2018

DUBAI: The Saudi-led Arab coalition destroyed an operations room and weapons caches of the Iran-back Houthi terrorists’ in the Yemeni province of Al-Bayda, south of the capital Sanaa, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Coalition fighters also launched another raid on Joumaida where the terrorists were stationed, targeting a tank and other weapons.

The source pointed out that Yemeni army and the Popular Resistance forces foiled an attack by the terrorists on positions in the area of Aishar Directorate of Nata.

More than 90 Houthi soldiers killed in coalition raids on Al-Bayda
ARAB NEWS | Published — Sunday 14 January 2018

LONDON: More than 90 Houthi militia soldiers have been killed and dozens wounded in raids carried out by Arab coalition fighters on a training camp in the Al-Bayda governorate, Al-Ekhbariya reported.

The media center for the Popular Resistance in the governorate said that coalition aircraft launched more than 7 raids on the Al-Qaseer camp overlooking the city of Rada’a and a training camp for the militias in an area situated between the regions of Qarn Assad and Reyaam in the governorate of Al-Arsh.

A statement was published on the Yemeni armed forces “26 September” website and said that Houthi leader Ahmed Saif Al-Dhahab was among the dead.

Houthi militias stormed on Friday the home of Yemeni Vice President General Ali Mohsen Al-Ahmar and kidnapped his son Mohsen Ali Mohsen along with dozens of house guards, sources in Sana’a said.

Ahmar’s office and Houthis did not confirm or deny the news that was reported by Arabiya.Net.

However, Houthi militias also released Saturday two prominent tribal leaders with a number of their followers, who were arrested on charges of participating in the uprising called for by former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh on December 2, that ended with Saleh’s death and injuries among his relatives and hundreds of his supporters.

Observers said that Houthis might have taken this step to please the “Hashid” tribe, since the first leader was a communications minister in the unrecognized government coup and a leader in the Popular Congress Party. He was overthrown by Houthis after Saleh’s death and was held in one of their detention camps after being accused of supporting the uprising.

The other detainee was a tribal leader, who maintained a close relationship with the former president,. The militias looted and then blew up his house and arresting a number of his followers.

According to the Houthi-based Saba News Agency, Head of the coup Houthi Supreme Political Council Saleh Al-Samad received Saturday in Amran the Governorate’s elders and sheikhs from the Hashid tribe, praising their roles in supporting the group, in the face of what he called “aggression.”

Samad has also ordered the release of Sheikh Glidan Mahmoud Glidan and Sheikh Mabkhouth Al-Mashreqi.

Meanwhile, the Houthi militia suppressed Saturday protests in Sana’a carried out by women to denounce the coup militia, forty days after former President Ali Abdullah Saleh was killed.

The protest, which reached Tahrir Square in central Sana’a, called for “civil disobedience” in response to the Houthi violations.

The participants demanded that the Houthi militias hand over Saleh’s corps of Saleh, which the Houthis claim to have buried in his hometown earlier this month.
