The orange zone in the map will be given up by Kurdish fighters to the control of Syrian Arab Army. This region will thus act as a buffer between the Kurds and Turks. However, the President of Turkey is adamant to crush the Kurds, and the FSA, the nurtured hireling of Turkey and NATO, are also determined to topple the incumbent Syrian President.
In order to take on the Kurds, the Turkish assault must break through the now established Syrian Army controls.
>>Turks have historic animosity with Arabs and Kurds.

Syria and Donbass are the cutting edge of the fight against world fascism, of which the US military and NATO are the tools. Trump has stupidly allowed US military to illegally enter Syria, which will lead to confrontations between the US military and their terrorist allies and the Syrian government troops and their Russian allies. This is a major escalation and provocation and a very dangerous situation. The following facts should be remembered -

1) It is illegal under US and international law for US troops to be engaged in combat operations in Syria. It is literally an invasion and an act of war. There has been no US congressional approval, no UN approval, and the Syrian government has not given permission to the US to be on it's territory.

2) The Assad government is the legitimate government of Syria. It was democratically elected, and if elections were held today, Assad would win again. He has the support of the vast majority of Syrian people.

3) The Russian military is there legally, invited by Assad to help fight terrorism. The Syrian / Russian coalition has made great progress in defeating ISIS and other terrorists in Syria, The US presence in Syria will not, and is not intended to, help the Syrian / Russian campaign, in fact it greatly hinders it.

4) Although there is no "Russian invasion" of Donbass, IF Russian military units were to enter the former territory of Ukraine and begin military operations against the Kiev regime, they would be doing nothing in Donbass that the US is not doing in Syria. The illegitimate Kiev regime was installed in a foreign-backed coup, and is not supported by people in Ukraine or Donbass.

"Exceptionalism" is just another word for hypocrisy and double standards. Trump's cowardice and stupidity in allowing US provocation and escalation in Syria is as shameful as it is dangerous. And it is very, very dangerous.

@brahmos

reportedly only 400 marines are reported to be sent to syria?? This is not anythin significant
possibly a token gesture. I really think Russia want usa to send ground troops as the divisions will be clear Russia/iran/ syria and turkey on one side with US/Nato/saudi Arabia on the other side. It has always be this division but now it is more clear.

The U.S. move into Manbij appeared initially to be having the intended effect -- at least with Turkey, which has been threatening for months to attack the city to oust what Turkish officials claim to be elements of the Syrian Kurdish YPG, or People's Protection Units. Turkey has charged that the YPG has links to Kurds behind an uprising in southeastern Turkey.

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said Monday that Turkey would not plan a military campaign against Manbij without consulting with the U.S. and Russia. Without such coordination, "there wouldn't be much of a result and things could get more complicated," he told a Turkish broadcast station.

Last week, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Manbij would be the next target in the campaign the Turkish military is conducting inside Syria with Free Syrian Army partners to clear border areas.
