It would make more sense to use MBRL barrage or Jaguar dropped cluster bombs sited by couple of observers rather than risking SF Teams in jungle warfare in enemy territory
No it wouldn't. There is no substitute of actual human combatant/boots on the ground. You can drop umpteen bombs, but never be sure it killed anything more than a few ants and flies.

No sir as until the contact the info is not fully confirmed plus we have to reduce the civilian casualty.

That would be a overkill, and don't forget families of these tangos also live on those villages.

And more over we have enough leftist campaigns going around, they will also start anti-bombing campaign. We are yet to shut down campaigns that started 30 years ago.Why give oxygen to already redundant ideology.

Precision Intelligence backed SF ops are the way to go.

Guys, enough with this internal bickering. We have enough external enemies as it is. Stop it, please.

Was there any actual casualties on our side? Conflicting reports......

Very little has come out, only 7/8 news articles in English media.

It does not matter, fact remains that NSCN-k got spooked and hence gave the details of operation first.

Public need not know about these things, only NSCN-k needs to know that they are being hunted.

In this case and the previous one, I guess message is well received by the tangos.

India has such technology and secondly Special forces are not bakras they are trained to kill in special circumstances only. If you send them again and again there will be no surprise element in striking rats which exactly happened , do you know we lost atleast 4 to 5 para troopers in the current operation.
You don't always need high technology a good sniper can kill all these pigs in less than a minute from more than half a mile away. India needs to start using snipers more effectively also sniper do psychological damage to the enemy since they don't know where they are being killed from

When you can use technology then why risk our soldiers life, they are trained for war not to kill rats
Buddy , I have seen that area of North east and to be honest, it is highly dense. You need pin point accuracy to spot a camp and later hit it with pin point accuracy. And Still after that there is no gaurantee that every one would be eliminated.

Indian forces would need to clear the forest first before affective arial attack

We don't know for sure whether there were casualties.

Special Forces operate on the premise of attacking with the element of surprise, so chances of casualties are less. This could be propaganda on part of NSCN-K. On the other hand, the defending side usually has some advantages over the attacking side.

Whatever happened, why isn't the Myanmarese Army taking action against these camps?

In a major crackdown against militants ahead of the Independence Day celebrations, a Garo National Liberation Army camp was busted at Durama forest in Garo Hills. The raid was carried out jointly by police and the Indian Army. However, the militants fled the spot before the security forces arrived. The security officials suspect that ULFA (I) cadres were also at the camp. A huge cache of arms and ammunitions were also seized.
Not too long ago & what rain forest looks like..
