For the young kids who think Rashtriya Rifles and Indian Army are not well equipped..... don't heart phail

This force is a laggard compared to rest of CAPFs
From wikipedia:
Its primary purpose was to counter an act of aggression by the People's Liberation Army. The previous thinking had been that, militarily, the Chinese were "superior" to India and in the event of a war, the Chinese might attempt to overwhelm Indian forces. So, in 1963, a unique force was created, which would, in the event of such an attempt by the Chinese to invade and occupy Indian territory, merge with the border population, donning civilian attire, working a parallel administration and carry out the war of India with the help of guerrilla tactics.[3]
This is actually pretty cool stuff though probably not well implemented on the ground. So they were originally supposed to be some kind of underground resistance movement in the event of PLA takeover.

This is a pet peeve of mine. Why does the Indian army waste precious land and accord the dead bodies dignity by offering prayers and burying them with decency? Just burn the bodies and be done with it. If anything it will deter the hajjis from coming.

Gunmen Kill 3 Pakistani Paramilitary Troops in Quetta
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
OCTOBER 14, 2016

QUETTA, Pakistan — Gunmen riding on motorcycles in the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta shot and killed three paramilitary officers on Friday before fleeing, an official said.
The officers were on guard duty when they were attacked, according to Wasay Khan, a spokesman for the Frontier Corps. Two died at the scene, while the third succumbed to his wounds at a hospital, the spokesman added.
Baluchistan, where Quetta is the provincial capital, has long been the center of a low-level insurgency by small separatist groups demanding more autonomy and a greater share in the region's natural resources such as gas and oil.
The government says it's trying to improve the local economy and bring the separatists into mainstream politics. There have been attacks on security forces and members of the minority Shiite sect in the provincial capital and its surroundings in recent months.
The province is also home to Islamic militants and sectarian group like Lashker-e-Jhangvi, which has claimed responsibility for many attacks on Shiites.
Hours after Friday's attack, the Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the killing in a statement posted on an IS-affiliated website. Pakistani authorities deny that the extremist militant group, which is based in Syria and Iraq, has a presence in Quetta and elsewhere in the country.

Army guns down 3 more Terrorist who attempted to seize an Army Base

The Indian military says it has killed three suspected militants who allegedly attempted to seize an army base in the Indian-controlled Kashmir, as heightened tensions continue in the disputed Himalayan region, Press TV reported.

According to army spokesman Col. Rajesh Kalia, the three gunmen, wearing army fatigues, were shot dead in a heavy exchange of fire with Indian soldiers early on Thursday after they fired at sentry posts and tried to break through an army base’s perimeter in Kupwara district near the border with Pakistan.

He further said that three AK rifles and some ammunition were recovered from the gunmen, adding that no Indian army troops was killed or sustained injuries in the incident.

The base attacked serves as the local headquarters of the counter-insurgency military unit and is situated in the vicinity of the fortified Line of Control (LoC), the de facto border that divides Kashmir between India and Pakistan.

The attack came less than three weeks after allegedly Pakistan-based militants assaulted an Indian army base, killing at least 19 soldiers, the deadliest such raid in nearly two decades.

The incident sparked further tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, with New Delhi accusing Islamabad of failure in establishing security over the region and curbing the militants. Pakistan, however, rejected India’s claims that the militants had come from Pakistan, demanding credible proof.

Meanwhile, reports say that a number of militants, allegedly from Pakistan, unsuccessfully tried to break through the barbed wire fence on the LoC at two points in the Nowgam sector and one at Rampur on Wednesday night.
