China's pressure tactics against India seem to be working in Ladakh. India has abandoned construction of an eight kilometre border road in Demchok after threats from Chinese soldiers. But China's duplicity is all too evident. It speeded up infrastructure across the Indus including survellieance systems.

A stone crusher lying idle is proof of China's strong arm tactics in the remote border areas of Ladakh. Road construction machines left to rust after Chinese soldiers stopped work on Indian terrirtory in Demchok.

Aggressive posturing by China has brought the development activities to a screeching halt in forward areas and the latest casualty is the construction of an irrigation canal in Demchok area. On contrary China is making stride in infrastructural build up on its side. This has led people of Ladakh to ask one question; "How long will this developmental activity be held hostage to diplomatic row between two countries?"

On a hill across the Indus river the Chinese have built a green roofed structure overlooking the Indian territory. Also a horse stable for chinese soliders and even a radar and survelliance system.

But on the Indian side the Central Government has advised not to go ahead with any construction in Demchok without its approval leaving the locals bitter.

The angry people of Ladakh have started questioning India's soft policy towards China and now the Government of India's recent decision to put a blanket ban on the sort of construction work all along the border has made the people feel that India is giving way under Chinese pressure. They feel the best option at this time is that India needs to be more agressive towards the dragon.

^^^ Our corrupt babus is thinking to handle the opposition over their questions in parliament.. They do not have time to think about all these things and just bowing to Chinese pressure.. Just boosting the defense procurement is not enough, there should be sufficient infrastructure to support it...:tsk:

Why the hell defense ministry couldn't provide cover to the infrastructure company working over there....:mad2:

I don't think China has the ability to dictate India's infrastructure projects across the border. This is just another baseless accusation. When something goes wrong in India like whn the trains go off the track in Mumbai, folks automatically point the finger at China, there is a word for it called 'obsession'.

I can think zillions of reasons why the project is on hold.

Maybe the high-quality cement that is needed in such harsh environment can not be made in India, therefore needs to be imported from abroad. And there has an availability problem...

Maybe the guy who designed the road was a high school dropout, and he did all the drawings wrong...

Maybe the local muslims got angry that an army of construction workers of different faith invaded their territory and they issued a jihad or fatwa or whatever...

Maybe the construction workers were from the tropical part of India, and they could not handle the cold and the lack of oxygen, thus abandoning the work...

Maybe the construction workers have not been paid for 3 months (since the manager pocketed all the money) and finally got fed up..

and so on

India is the second largest producer of cement in the world, after China. Granted the building boom has sapped stocks. But there is still no shortage for the public sector. Maybe there is a get-real availability problem in China!

Maybe the guy who designed the road was a high school dropout, and he did all the drawings wrong...
Guys that supervise border road construction work on India's government roads projects are graduates of the IES, one of the toughest civil-service engineering examinations anywhere in the world. We don't build bridges, that fall down the next day. LoL!

Maybe the local muslims got angry that an army of construction workers of different faith invaded their territory and they issued a jihad or fatwa or whatever...
Most Ladakhis are of Tibetan buddhist descent, while a majority of the rest are Shia muslims who support and root for the Indian administration wholeheartedly. Ladakh's demographics preclude such an 'insurrection'. Or maybe there's a lack of common sense in China.

Maybe the construction workers were from the tropical part of India, and they could not handle the cold and the lack of oxygen, thus abandoning the work...
No Government project anywhere in India imports workers wholesale from one part of the country to another. Government work projects that generate employment in one state are meant for those of that state. Maybe, however, there is a lack of oxygen in that part of China you're sitting in. And that's got to your brain.

Maybe the construction workers have not been paid for 3 months (since the manager pocketed all the money) and finally got fed up..
Construction workers in India are day labourers and are paid at the end of the day. I don't think any construction worker would not be paid for 3 months and still show up to work. Only in China, I know they could be driven to dirt and made to show up regardless, wages or not.

and so on
....and so on, indeed...

Dude, first is that Ladakh isn't muslim majority as already clarified here. 2nd, you just pictured the kashmiri muslim's common sense in a very bad light. 3rd, if people would get instigated by the faith of construction workers (entirely their personal matter) of an infrastructure project in their locality, what do you think people all across Africa, PoK & Sri Lanka should think of the loads of Chinese workers there?

You out of your mind? Ladakhis are Mahayana Buddhists! They're more nationalist than some Indians living in Delhi and Mumbai (with no disrespect to residents of either of these cities).

what you want from our govt they are shameless

we need more numbers against china
We made the government.. if we have the capability to make the government and then we do have the capability change the political system..

until or unless our people turn against the corruption and we ourselves should not go by it. we have three categories of people

1. business makers & entrepreneur - who are tamed by politicians and their policies to make more money thru mere investments. They do not care about the interest of common man.
2. middle - who go by corrupt way unwillingly to make their work done and to develop their position.
3. poor - don't have the capability to make any impact on the system. struggle to survive on day-day life.. mostly turn into instruments for the level 1 (business makers) people to serve them.

All these high level category run for their own survival and growth.. they are not willing to think about where the society goes.. It is so complicated to sort it out and the corrupt politicians using this fact and are not afraid to loot so much of people's money... WE NEED A REVOLUTION against the GOVERNMENT AND THE POLITICAL SYSTEM....

Relax, he's toying wit you!

While you're here funny guy, you might as well learn a thing or two.

This is a serious forum, and there are sub-forums where you can get that funny-bone on.

But in the meantime, while this might be a piquant topic for you, it is a serious topic for the rest of us. So get with the program or bugger the f*ck off!

While we are at it, let's have a little more fun. Here are a few more:

Maybe the Tata equipment had broken down again(for the zillionth time), so the management requested elephants as replacement which yet has to arrive

Maybe the local curry is not to the liking of the workers, and they quit in protest

Maybe couple man-eating leopards have been terrorizing the worker's camps, forcing a complete halt of the project in the remake of the Tsavo maneaters.
This is not a Jokes thread and by no imagination tenders a context of light moments. Its a pure BS troll post. You should take your insensible a** out of this forum and have fun there till some sense comes back to you.

Virendra
