I think in most modern tanks, sloping is given in an angle to deflect an incoming projectile, not as much as to increase its LOS thickness of the armour. Also sloping works well for metal (like steel, RHA, Titanium, DU etc.) (which are homogeneous layers), but not as much for composites.
