thisa report in hindu is bullshit.every other reports have suggested that all 4 missile tests(including 2 conducted today) are succesful.

drdo has once revealed that akash mk1 has even nuetralised flying object having a rcs as low as 0.02m2.hence even if chinese planes launches air-to ground missile from stanoff ranges the akash can shoot down the missile itself and not the plane when the missile enters it's engagement envelope.

will the akash mk2 feature a seeker?

if akash mk1 can detect an object of 0.02sq.metre then i think akash mk2 with aesa radar,improved accuracy and fast missile can surely intercept even the f-22 raptor or pak-fa.

if drdo calls a 70 km missile as long range then i wonder what it may call the s-400 system-may be galactic range.

the patriot and s-300 missiles were initially developed as long range sam.they were later developed into ballistic missile defense role.can the AAD missile system be developed into the reverse role that is air defense against cruise missiles,aircrafts etc witth capabilities like the patriot...

wasn't there rumours about the barrack-ER-SAM with range of 120+km meant for IAF. also there is no mention of our indegeneous bmd or maitri missile
