Does anyone have any photographs of Indian police/ CAPFs using gas masks in riot control situations? I have a few from the 1980s-1992 period but this was one of the more recent ones (the photo on the right isn't a cop):

I remember seeing the originals. I find these look so cool and refined compared to the 1990s ones so was asking if they are still in service?

Yup! I may still have an old magazine "Sunday" when they formed the STF to hunt Verappan and one guy had a Thompson M1 and another had a M3 Grease Gun. Then there was an India today article on policing - back in the 1980s - and a Punjab Police Havildar had a M1 Garand. So anybody have any more...

Here are some photos - rare now - one of a Delhi cop with a Sten Mk.II I think (but with 3 full mags), Gujarat weapons puja with a collection of firearms including a Walther P38/P1 and assorted others (can anyone identify?) and from J&K a cop with a Thompson M1 submachine gun missing its stock.
