    ADA Tejas Mark-II/Medium Weight Fighter

6 prototypes in 5-6 years means they plan to build all 6 prototypes in the coming 5-6 years. First one will be ready by 2024, with flight in 2025 as per the recent timeline. Following that, more prototypes will come out from 2025,2026,2027,2028 and 2029. Induction timeline seems to be aligned...

Aah, the so called "MRFA" discussion starts again. No RFP. No testing. Nothing really on ground. Just some random comment by the Air chief every other week and then the "Discussion" begins.

Jags wont be retired till Tejas mk2 is ready. I can sign on a paper with that claim. I mean we are still using 1950s Mig-21 now in 2022. And im pretty sure i read we have 3 Mig29 and 3 Mirage2000 squadrons currently. Mirage2000 squadrons are smaller with around 16 fighters each and Mig29 are...

    6 Mig29+Mirage2000 , not 5. 6 Jaguars So total is maintained at 30 by 2025. 2025-2030 : 4 Tejas mk1A 2 Rafales(hopefully) Thus 36 by 2030. There wont be any additional Mig29 or Mirage2000 squadron.

What MRFA? Even ASQR arent fixed. they say it will be done by 2022. Then RFI...RFP...Trials...Shortlisting...Negotiations....Production...its a long story. Nothing will be clear before 2030 at this rate. MWF should enter into production by then. But yes, these Dalaals will try and postpone that...

Corruption. They just want something which they know will take time. When we had Tejas mk1, they wanted Tejas mk2. Now when we are having Tejas mk2, they want AMCA. When we will have AMCA, they will want BMCA....later CMCA...DMCA..Whatever... Their aim is to not induct Indian jets and buy...

All Single Engine Light Combat Aircrafts in the World have a TW ratio of less than 1 in clean configeration(100% fuel). Be it the current Tejas..or Gripen..or FA-50..or JF17. Infact if im not wrong, the best TW ratio of all Light combat fighters is of Tejas mk1. With a gross weight of 21,600...

Sorry, haha. I will try my best to explain. Just a slight change in dimension of an engine could alter design so much that redesigning could take over 10 years. Tejas mk1's GE404 to the Tejas mk2's GE414 is an example itself. "Adding another engine" would mean developing a completely new...

The difference isnt as huge as a "F-22 vs F-5" thats obvious. But there's atleast half to 1 generation difference considering JF-17 Block 2 is more like a 3.5th gen...Tejas mk1 is 4th gen while Tejas mk1A is a 4.5th gen. JF-17 block 3 is still several years away.

JF-17 is based on the 60s technology. Its a continuation of the Chinese "Super 7" project started in 1991 to redesign and upgrade the Chinese F-7(Mig21 copy). So basically JF-17 is based on a Mig21 with design upgrades and upgrades on its avionics, weapons, etc.

They are simply trying to kill the programme. I would like to meet the people who brought in the logic that Tejas mk1 should be an "Advanced trainer"
