    Indian Army: News and Discussion

I was looking more for a mathematical answer, and I seem to have an idea now. The average salaries, and if applicable pensions, of those countries soldiers is close to their average per capita incomes. Their soldiers earn 40-60k a year. India on the other hand pays 3-5 times our per capita...

    Indian Army: News and Discussion

One thing I've found odd regarding India's troubles with revenue vs capital expenditures due to our high number of personnel. The active Indian Armed Forces are a smaller proportion of our population than for many countries with professional militaries. Proportionately, countries like France...

An official handle shouldn't be left to a guy who can't differentiate between the RuA and IA, something amateurs like us can spot in 2 seconds. And those 2 clips of agniveers warrant some official explanation, granted there were only 2 clips.

When they would never let a unit wear the old fibreglass helmets without the helmet cover, why do they let them wear the MKU helmet without any helmet cover? It's an all too common sight. Are there any utilitarian reasons why some units would prefer it without a cover?

The straight blade shape on the Indian Army insignia is much closer to the straight swords that Hindus had used for more than 2000 years, compared to the curved Tulwar that got adopted much later.

I was looking at a video of the Singapore army and noticed their infantry gear and camo. God knows when the Indian army will start standardizing it's camo for all equipment in a particular theatre. Here you can see matching camo for helmet, BPJ, and Uniform, and all the helmets are kitted out...

Soldiers look amazing in this video. I just wish it becomes universal. Only 1 lakh kevlar helmets and 1.86 lakh new BPJ's have been ordered. Not enough to equip all infantry in a 2 front war. Does anyone have any news/rumours of more being ordered?

We need to stop making modern glass monstrosities and start building fusion architecture incorporating traditional Indian architecture with some modern features. This new building plan looks like some random mall. Taj hotel built in the 30's by Tata looks far better than any glass building. ITC...

    Indian Army: News and Discussion

If there are battles in the mountains, such as in Ladakh or arunachal, then individual soldiers will have to shoot accurately upto 400-500 meters. There will be no urban battles in this scenario. That being said, I agree that the Indian armys new small arms policy makes absolutely no sense. We...
