    AH-64E Apache attack helicopter

the first order of 22 apache was being negotiated since 2012, so they went ahead and closed that deal first. there was no benefit in re-opening negotiations by changing the numbers and delay the deal further.

They have stopped writing about that point over past 2 or 3 years, ever since rafael deal was signed. After balakot strikes, foreign defence opeds hardly complain about IAF’s ageing fleet.

And incase we forget, Apache & chinook procurement process started in 2009. 15 price extensions have happened before the deal is signed. Decision for first lot to go to IAF and second lot to go to IA was taken during UPA time(needs confirmation). Basically most of the complaints we are...

You are all over the place mate.. Adding to what I said before: Avro replacement is C295, which is again a foreign maal. NASAMS2 is not in the same category as spyder and Akash. Varunastra torpedoes inducted. all foreign policy experts disagree with you on the point that NDA does not...

    AH-64E Apache attack helicopter

My understanding of this thinking is that IAF believes aviation is their core competence both in terms of engineering and exploitation of new aviation technology. This is from a pre-Vietnam war era thought process, which is bound to change once India moves to theatre command concept on the...

Don’t agree with this argument. Tejas has not completed its trials, SP order is yet to be fulfilled. MK1A concept introduced in 2016. AESA ELTA decision taken only recently. Cheetah/Chetak replacement LUH has not completed its trials. they started working on it in 2016. AK203, we don’t know...

    AH-64E Apache attack helicopter

There will always be pros and cons. From a tactical perspective: IA gets to experiment with incorporating contemporary Heavy weight combat chopper ,PGM (hellfire), FCS(longbow) into their tactics. Which other wise they would have to wait for a decade for Indian industry to come up with this...

i was trolling, that deal had 244 refurbished apaches and 24 new ones. all deals are not structured the same way. dividing deal value with helicopters received is not a sound logic.

To defend itself from being labelled as Chinese stooge, by Americans. Bangladesh can’t expect Americans be quiet, after they bought Chinese subs.

    AH-64E Apache attack helicopter

why blame the Americans, when the fault lies within. No other country has two nuclear armed neighbours who also happen to be adversaries, and yet we are dependant on outside purchases of defence equipment.

Wait till bill of material is released. It will contain list of all items being purchased as part of the deal including extra engines, weapons package, training & maintenance. Me personally, I would like to see purchase of more hellfire. Just so that IA can do comparative trails with Helina...
