ironic, by the time we reach a certain maturity level in engine tech, our needs creep to next level. I hope GTRE develops an engine that produces a AL31 class 120 Kn approx thrust , whatever the weight may be, we may use it in long range heavy UCAVs, like russian Sukhoi S-70 Okhotnik-B if...

ofcourse, Russians hold the IP rights. My query is do we hv better tech to make a better quality Al31 with our own SCBs? & TBC? Are we technically capable?

SO in future can we use our own SCBs with TBC in AL31 engine to make them more reliable, with longer meantime between overhauls?

If we have perfected LZ-YSZ coatings fr TBC then there should be no issues with core , other than multi pass laser hole drilling , Then why there is no PIB release , notifying these milestones? or GTRE press conferences to say the same, WHat happened to the reports of Safran saying kaveri is...

there are some interesting tit bits, I read somewhere, SU 30 MKI titanium block machining is happening in india. But the blocks are supplied from india. we machined it here. So this making from RAW MATERIAL stage is another DPP jargon which hides more than its reveals,, like a bikini,, If...

That was my thinking also. Higher temp & humidity saps wing lift & engine thrust is what I read. Still if we can hv a credible link to cite, we can counter criticism on tejas All manufacturer s give their specs for ISDA atmosphere conditions of 20 deg temp & a specific humidity level & at...

Yo mud headed expert, Read the following, Before starting your ,"fortune telling", "Combined with relatively low wing loading and powerful basic flight controls, it makes for an exceptionally agile aircraft, controllable even at very low speeds and high angle of attack. " You hv been yelling...

In aerodynamics stable & unstable doesn't mean nose heavy or tail heavy. It is negative stability (Relaxed Static Stability, RSS) or positive stability , the old world CG in front of CP. "experts" who advocated ,that 300 kG extra engine weight in tejas needs , no structural re engineering...

In the last three years of UPA govt GTRE was denied funding even to run their existing engines. So I wonder what GTRE guys will "pom-pom" about??? Certainly you dont expect them to sell their grand father's property to fund kaveri development. UPA also freezed DRDO funding. GTRE head was...

Kaveri is a low bypass engine , with lower TET, which doesn't need SCB for its original design thrust. SCBs are needed if its bypass ratio is increased to produce extra thrust

Till yesterday I thought I knew some English, but this beats me, "that for every 1 kg of air passing through the core, 160 gms of air pass around the core. Hope its not so difficult to understand." What nonsense is this??? You still fail to understand in low bypass ratio engines by pass...
