It’s not a big deal, production has commenced using the interim approvals, they’ll get CEMILAC final approval in the meantime for delivery to take place

If the problem was a problem it would’ve been addressed by now. This is honestly pathetic behaviour as usual from the retired uniform class. never is an opportunity missed to stick the knife into Indian products

IJT will not compete with the Hawk which is an AJT with higher performance IJT is meant to replace the Kiran Not 100% sure of the need for a IJT these days with the ability to go from PC7 to AJT but the IAF knows best on these things and how to churn out their pilots

Just went back to the first page to dig up this comment Shows how votes matter, how govts matter. I have a LOT of criticisms of NDA but god damn we have seen an entirely new era emerge under them and some are now pretending as though HTT-40 was always going to happen.

I just realised I hadn’t factored in the 10-15% upfront payment. So in fact the IAF could ORDER 106 HTT-40 for the price of 2-3 LCHs! 2-3 Apaches would actually cover the full cost of 106 HTT-40 Money can be found if push from the top comes. This goes for LCH LSP that’s still pending too...

Cost of the HTT-40 is what? $3m? And IAF only needs to pay 10-15% on contract signing so they can order the full 106 (they won’t of course) for the cost of 2-3 AH-64E. IAF can find $30-50m laying around if they need to, GoI gave armed forces emergency funds in the billions multiple times over...

Up and till very recently IAF was still lobbying for a further order of PC7 (38) which would have directly eaten into HTT40 orders, this was AFTER it was proven that their was corruption in original Pilatus deal. With traitors like these in your ranks it answers the question as to why to this...

Pilatus is toxic now just like AW- nothing ever proven there (yet) but still damage is done. BJP govt certainly won’t want to be seen handing them any follow on contracts for a long long time. Hope HAL gets their act together and delivers HTT40 ASAP. golden opportunity this, literally an...

Agreed with first part but regarding the arming, it will only be armed for training during basic training. It will never serve an operational combat role nor will it he used for SAR or anything like that.

Pilatus has been burned because of typical UPA corruption. HTT40 is close enough to acceptance.

The project was only cleared a few years ago. It wasn't a question of struggling, the know how is there but as always it was mindset and bureaucracy that was holding them back.

The numbers are waaaay off here. Only 75 PC-7s were ordered. The IAF still requires 120++ BTT that the HTT-40 will fit the bill and the IN will look to induct at least 40 for themselves.
