LCA TEJAS MK1 & MK1A: News and Discussion

The USAF alone has more than 800 F-16s, that is more than 3 times the number of Su-30MKI that the IAF operates, do you understand the difference between the USAF & IAF? What you are saying is entirely possible, of course we can order 1000s of Tejas, another 100 flankers and whatever you have on...

LOCAL MANUFACTURING for 35 aircrafts? I mean if Egypt is ready to place orders for atleast 80+ units of Tejas Mk1A then I would definitely advocate transfer of technology to the Egyptians to help them assemble Tejas in Egypt itself but 35 aircrafts? LOLZ either the guy incharge of HAL is acting...

LCA TEJAS MK1 & MK1A: News and Discussion

It's very disappointing to hear the news about FA-50 getting selected over Tejas but what has happened has happened, we can't do anything about it, I always doubted from the starting that RMAF would go for Tejas. Better to focus on meeting our own airforce's requirements & pitching Tejas in...

LCA TEJAS MK1 & MK1A: News and Discussion

Either you are being sarcastic or are misinformed, VTOL capability in a plane like F-35 is nothing new, many aircrafts in the past have had the ability to land & take-off vertically, one of the most popular example of such an aircraft is the Harrier. Such capability is not something of...

If someone wants to update the photo of Tejas in its Wikipedia page then here are some photos which you could use, tbh, the photo of Tejas which has already been posted on its wiki page is good enough, it's better than photos of FA-50 and JF-17 on their respective wiki page. Now here are some...

LCA TEJAS MK1 & MK1A: News and Discussion

Tejas Mk-A will start it's production from 2024 onwards, after which all the Mk-1As will be delivered to the Indian Airforce before 2029-30. What exactly is your Definition of mass production? Like a large number? Like what type of quantity? 40 Tejas mk-1 already in service with the 83 Mk-1A on...

LCA TEJAS MK1 & MK1A: News and Discussion

Currently there are two squadrons of Tejas Mk-1, Flying Daggers and Flying Bullets. Squadron flying daggers is based at Sulur AFS, Tamil Nadu. Not sure about Flying Bullets, I think so that it too is stationed in Sulur but I will have to confirm further later on. Coming to Tejas being deployed...

LCA TEJAS MK1 & MK1A: News and Discussion

Who told you that India is not using Tejas in its fleet? Already two Squadrons of Tejas MK-1 are Operational in IAF. Search up Squadron Flying Daggers and Squadron Flying Bullets. I have not understood your meaning of "you yourself don't use it". If you can elaborate on this a bit further then...

LCA TEJAS MK1 & MK1A: News and Discussion

TBH even if Tejas does not receive an export order now, I won't be disheartened, what matters to me is the fact that we are pitching our products to other nations and trying to compete with more experienced players like SK, Russia etc. When the time comes, Tejas will definitely get its first...

LCA TEJAS MK1 & MK1A: News and Discussion

PLEASE NOTE : All news saying that Malaysia has selected FA-50 need further validation. Until and unless the Malaysian official give their official word on this, please don't believe these Reports. As far as I am concerned, RMAF will finalize the aircraft by next year. Tejas is still in the race.

LCA TEJAS MK1 & MK1A: News and Discussion

It is not confirmed whether RMAF has selected FA-50 or not. All these sources which are saying that FA-50 have been selected cannot be trusted. We need the official word from the Malaysian authorities. Remember how Pakistani media was saying that Malaysia selected JF-17? It could be the same...

LCA TEJAS MK1 & MK1A: News and Discussion

I am curious to know as to what is the general opinion of Tejas among the Argentinian public? Are they negative? Are they positive? Etc. In the case of Malaysia I know most Malaysians have a very negative opinion about Tejas. I have seen comments like "Tejas is Bad plane"/"India is not a...

LCA TEJAS MK1 & MK1A: News and Discussion

To be fair, this entire competition is actually between Tejas and FA-50 as thess two have the highest chance of getting selected. Other planes in the tender like YAK-130, L-15 etc have very low chance of getting selected.

Most of the planes which are participating in this tender are of light weight category that Effectively makes this an "LCA Tender'. But I wonder how MiG-35 which is a medium weight plane is participating in this tender? To me this seems like another flaw in this tender.
