    Kaveri had reliability issues, it couldn't sustain afterburning. If Rafale can make do with m88 snecma engines, so can the AMCA or the Future tedbf but as I pointed out, it wasn't reliable enough, we need to get back in the kaveri game and experiment with it ,but yeah it's easier said than done.

    There can't be a better source than the test pilot itself. Clearly Tejas isn't designed for that, fighter jets these days are a lot more than just Mach numbers.

    The only way forward is ditching the MWF for AMCA, 5th gen should be a priority for the Defense ministry. If they start now, then we can hope it flies for the first time by 2026/27. Hopefully Kaveri won't be a dream by then.

    What are you on about ? India doesn't have any BVR missiles with that range. The r-77 India operates has a range about 80 KM's and believe me probably of that missile hitting a modern jet at 80 KM's is very slim. The one you are talking about is K 77m which india doesn't operate.

    Mk1A needs to be between 40m to 45m dollars if they want the IAF to go anywhere near it. 63m is way too much for it as Gripen falls rightly under it.
