Lets wait for ARDE's F-INSAS rifle to appear before we jump on options. Beretta, AK, Colt ... option in hundreds but whats the point in flushing millions to foreign dump again when we have already acquired enough expertise thanks to INSAS? ..........Indian taxpayers won't always have deeper...

SAYA, its sure thing, foldable butt all black (but in two tone) INSAS is now standard with RPF. Traveled a lot in last ten days and almost every time i saw a RPF guy, i saw foldable butt all black INSAS with one or two. Alas! still no pictures.

SAYA, exactly week ago i saw RPF personals with sparklingly new all-black foldable-butt INSAS (to my annoyance in two separate tone just like AR-15). And except for one ( who was carrying old yellow, fixed butt) rest all were carrying it. So i guess new stocks are all coming in all back...

Flat YES. There is no private sector company in India as of today who is willing to spare its own money in designing and development of small arms, however there are plenty willing to be the manufacturer of DRDO design. You know there is project called F-INSAS and private major TATA is willing...

DRDO is purely a defence R&D orgnisation and has nothing to do with production. Contrary to your belief, DRDO is not protective of its (forced) status, unfortunetely in past no privet company came forward to share this burden. Now when they seems willing and looking capable, DRDO is propossing...

I was talking about duel role, meaning sniper shooting selecting single-shot mode. BTW a scope is required for detection or identification of enemy or enemies at distances.

You stand correct but i think IA is mixing roles. Rapid shoots at 700 meters with iron sights could be called blind.

Reason behind placing scope might be the range. This riffle has an effective range of ~700m. IMO at this range a sight become essential.

This is 'KALANTAK', the proposed replacemt for INSAS(basic). Old news, but to keep this thread moving i have posted this. I guess ANUP is having more specific informations about this riffle. Bullpup INSAS(basic) Fixed and foldable butt Insas. Visible difference in overall length...

I don't think it matters what it was hit with, what matters is final condition of that tank which gives hints about FINAL DESTINATION of its crew. There is difference between destroyed and disabled. As far as i know no A1 Abrams was destroyed only Bradely(ICV) was destroyed. I may be wrong so...

So you accept that T-90 is with flaws and IA inducted it knowingly. Well answered! Thanks. Not always. Check out this pictures(already posted in previous post). IMAGE Even a blind can see surviving ERAs on the turret. Best of the peoples sits on chair and make policies and weapons. But...

Post above ur's have some hints. Following are some. a. In war wounding is preferred than killing. b. 5.56 being light allows more numbers carried. c. Counter terrorists forces prefer killing a terrorists(even when they say they were trying to catch them alive) who are trained go suicidal...

I know what is the difference between INSAS 5.56 mm assault riffle and TAR-21 TAVOR. My question was in principle and that was. If IA can accept one system that too for special forces with glitches then why it can't accept other.
