LCA TEJAS MK1 & MK1A: News and Discussion

Refuelling probe require changes to plumbing inside the jet and may not be feasible without a full MLU... And IIRC, refuelling probe was originally supposed to come only in Mk1A jets, but was pushed ahead in Mk1 FOCs itself... So, 45 Squadron IOCs will be upgraded to FOC standard but without...

LCA TEJAS MK1 & MK1A: News and Discussion

I assumed production rate of 12 jets per year for AMCA... I don't think it will be more than this unless IAF orders beyond 6 squadrons... A lot of factors will decide production capacity like order numbers, Absorption rate of IAF etc.... IAF can not absorb 50 new AMCAs every year... AMCA won't...

LCA TEJAS MK1 & MK1A: News and Discussion

As of now, No. We do not have any Heavy jet project currently... - There is no obsession on HAL/ADA's part for Medium Weight jets... We inducted 250+ Heavy jets in the last two decades... We were short of Medium Weight Class jets... So, HAL/ADA worked on them as required by IAF... Replacement...

What you said about GNats may be true in the era of Single Role fighters and WVR battles... That was 50 years ago and world has moved ahead in terms of technology and the way Air Battles are fought... The main requirement for Air Interception and Point Defence is that the jet should be in air...

I didn't prove anything... And I'm not that well-read... You assume a lot of things... You think IAF's doctrine is only defending Air Space...? Then who will attack targets in enemy land...? Who does the breaking-in of enemy Air Defence assets...? Who does dominating of enemy air space so that...
