well all IAF aircraft currently in inventory can be called multirole aircraft except for SEPECAT Jaguar but you also have to define what is the primary role of each aircraft. for example, Su-30 MKI is also a multirole Aircraft technically but its primarily role is air superiority.

in that case, it may just be a case of different squadrons of Mk1A being assigned different roles. 83 Mk1a comes out to 4 squadrons with 11 in reserve.

honestly with induction of Apaches, no need for Mig 27 type aircraft.

this is LCA Tejas Mk 1 FoC. I dont think they will ever be deployed to a FOB.

Mig 27 are a ground attack aircraft whereas Mig 21 are interceptors. not sure if Tejas Mk1A would qualify for that role.

LCA Mk1A order should be signed now... no need to delay any longer.

MoD has a track record of not paying HAL on time anyways, so what is the point of price negotiations for so long? just sign the damn contract so at least they can get started. PS: Im not a big fan of HAL or any PSU for that matter but MoD babus are not as innocent as some people would think.

price negotiation.... seriously BC its HAL, a PSU (public sector unit). the money comes back to the public anyway. these are just delaying tactics. MoD Babus are pissed they won't be able to strike a deal with a foreign vendor who can give them a cut of the money.
