Atleast they are ahead of the Rafale in such demonstrations, more tests will happen obviously with a variety of loads.

Yes but DSCA is always an estimate, Kuwait ordered 28 instead of 40 so the cost is lower. Also it seems Rafale in India is not meeting the offset requirements as usual, most vendors are happy to sign up to these clauses but execution always has problems hence we are doing away with the offset...

Hard to tell now, there is no RFP, perhaps they decide to wait for TEDBF but obviously nothing will happen till money is allocated. Let's see.

Sorry buddy, all that doesn't matter. IN is not going to buy anything without trials and so both Rafale and Block 3 SH will have to undergo extensive trials from INS Vikky and based on the performance the winner will be chosen. Block 3 SH has a higher chance of winning due to folding wings...

You keep saying that they are too heavy for our Carriers, as per who?

Why is IAF wasting time with this tender instead of buying more Rafale at this point. IN is fair game.

That depends to be seen, the RFP is not out yet.

90% availability during peacetime is expensive for any platform.

    F-18 Advanced Super Hornet

Typhoon and Rafale in general have very high running costs, hence majority of the those fleets in EU have availability of around 50% since there is no money to splurge. Sure they can manage 90% availability on a few aircraft during combat or air policing rotations but in regular time, they are...

SH Block-3 chances for Swiss went up with the German AF now on the verge of ordering 45 brand new block-3s. Swiss pilots were happy with their F-18s, so it's a natural progression going for the F-18 Block-3 for them since it can already deploy all weapons in their arsenal, comes with updated...

    F-18 Advanced Super Hornet

Do you have any evidence to prove this? The SH Block 3 is a easy winner for the Swiss. Not only will it be cheaper, it's a natural progression over the F-18. It is also cheaper and there is a already a great relation and logistics network for decades.

In 2005 Rafale didn't have an AESA, so silly points. In 2020 for now Rafale has a lead in BVR but again the SH Block 2 has plenty of counters for it.

    F-18 Advanced Super Hornet

Compare that to the SH Block 2 that has been AESA operational since 2005. Rafale didn't have a long range BVR or HMCS for a long time. A real battle between 4.5 gen fighters comes down to tactics and experience of the pilot. Rafale and SH would have the same opportunities to win or loose.

    F-18 Advanced Super Hornet

Well why or how does dogfighting prove anything? Till Meteor came along, in BVR and WVR, HMCS, AESA the F-18 SH in real battle has a bigger advantage. Heck Rafale didn't even have a proper WVR HMD or even AESA till recently.

So a 5th gen program for 2035 i.e timelines of a 6th gen aircraft, slowly catching up I see. No different from our own AMCA. Let's see who get's there first. Hopefully there is still a EU beyond next year for all this to continue.

    F-18 Advanced Super Hornet

I meant the USN doesn't give two shits about the Rafale, if it had two fucks to give, it would give them out to the SH and F-35. Rafale is already proving itself to be a hanger queen. USN only uses workhorses.

    F-18 Advanced Super Hornet

We shouldn't compare what's good for USN, Rafale is not good for them either. The SH line will remain open, Germans just about to order 45, 28 for Kuwait, more orders coming in the future. With all the upgrade work, the line will stay open beyond 2030 already.
