I do not think so. I fully agree. Why should we go for super hornet when Rafale is available at a fractionally higher rates with many modern goodies. Its EW is top class so as BVR.

Logically, contract should go to rafale only because we have paid a big amount to do one time work to suite our requirement. Buying anything else will result in recurring of expenses once again.

This depends. If more thrust comes from better metallurgy and high compression ration than it will have better range and higher thrust.

Very correct. That is why Rafale is in and F 16 and F 18 are out. Euroepean planes are significantly better in terms of RCS, Payload, Weapon and electronics. I remember a statement of an Indian Airforce officer at the time of MMRCA that F 16 and F18 has no future. They only flip side of Rafale...

F 18 has unparallel reliability. May be it is light weigh to suite the the Indian aircraft carrier.

The problem with the super hornet is that it is a too old deign. It can do in today's date what after 10 years? Will it be good enough? On other hand if w go for rafale than it will remain contemporary for atleast next 20 years.
