I thought Athos was to throw a bone to Kalyani because they have lost ATAGS (who won that anyway, Tata of Bharat Forge?)... It could be to build numbers quickly from multiple sources. I'm more pissed about importing K9, instead of Bhim or Catapult, mounted with Sharang or ATAGS.

Officially there's was an initial order of 114 pieces... 6 delivered on 8th April. A regiment of 18 guns is expected to be inducted by March 2020. (November 2019) Entire order of 114 guns to be completed by 2022.

Yes, but 155/52 is bigger then 155/45... That's what I didn't understand, why they'd reduce the Chamber length instead of keeping it unchanged? You sure it couldn't handle that? Now Sharang has same range of 40km as Dhanush which is also 155/45, but it could've achieved range of atleast 45km...

Why would they take a 130mm/52 calibre & create a 155mm/45 (and not a 155mm/52 one)??!!!..

TATA’s 155mm/52-cal Motorised Howitzer??? Don't these move like normal trucks & just stop, unlimber, lower supports & fire.

How come? A very large-sized unit will get the same guns. Maybe a whole corps would get the same model of 155mm gun for all its batteries, won't they?... maybe even multiple adjoining corps for good measure (large orders).

They'd still be of same callibre though... Aren't the shells interchangeable?

Then buy both TATA & Kalyani's ATAGS. Buying 400 guns of 15t for the mountains (18t bridges) & rest for the plains, would be somewhat acceptable though... would make sense.

Why don't we switch to mechanical ones then (for non-airburst dumbfucks ones)? With the G-forces the shells go through, it should be easy & reliable if utilised.
