    Nag anti-tank Missile

Hit the lower glacis plate BC 😲 Top-attack mode, upper glacis only... Doesn't even need full hull!

    Nag anti-tank Missile

That's correct. World leading is possibly Kornet E, that can penetrate 1300mm of armor! Kornet/TOW are direct direct hit weapons & need the punch. I shared what I read... That NAG series just puts max priority on the seeker & guidance, where it needed to meet requirements that Spike etc. failed...

    Nag anti-tank Missile

Unnecessary & impractical. These are small ATGMs (1/4th size of NAG) with less room for warheads, that too multiple in tandem. On top of that they have to maneuver for a top-attack... So these prioritise holding more fuel to sustain atleast 20 sec flight, that too climb followed by serpentine...

    Nag anti-tank Missile

Nope. Between a 45kg & a 14.5kg missile, there's far too many variables to even make a guess... But if I had to hazard one, I'd say MPATGM looks like it has a more serpentine trajectory. Nag goes straight up & straight down.

I don't think we have facility to live-test against moving target. Turret roof hit.

    Nag anti-tank Missile

It's a tactical effectiveness boosting weapon, not to be deployed en masse. The want 300 Nag, but on 25 launcher systems to be equipped by infantry divisions. Our jeep launcher systems will get laser-homing SAMHO.

    Nag anti-tank Missile

Sharing what I was pointed out elsewhere... They're ordering only 25 of the Namica platforms. It'll not be exposed like BMP-2. They'll keep it 5-7km behind the lines to snipe targets. BMP-2 & later FICV will get the smaller MPATGM mounted on them.

    Nag anti-tank Missile

MPATGM is proceeding, it's sister missiles are entering production... MPADMS is in rudimentary stage.

    Nag anti-tank Missile

It may be a bit easier for ammo... if they can get the LCH order at standby. HAL already has more than dozen LCH lined up. It's this one that'll take time.

    Nag anti-tank Missile

Heliba being integrated to LCH, user trials expected to start by December... Haven't got any news on Spike-ER.

    Nag anti-tank Missile

Sorry. My bad, CLGM & SAMHO are the laser guided ones... One launched from tank-gun another from recoilless rifle.

    Nag anti-tank Missile

Nah both shown good promise from the start. Not a single hitch.

This is MPATGM & CLGM... Not the OG Nag in case anyone was wondering.

    Nag anti-tank Missile

Actually they were mostly NATO tankies discussing how worthless the laser-guided Russian atgms they faced were, how easy to detect & counter. Maybe a ATGM guy would have contradicted their opinions, can't say. But it is true that the west basically did away on the laser guided ATGMs after...

    Nag anti-tank Missile

This being a bit too uncomparable, 😅 one could argue that scoped-.303 may help in long distance engagements Himalayas or Afghanistan alongside assault rifles... if money is tight. Incase of mass ATGMs purchases, it is. Yes, 3rd gen ATGMs can indeed slaughter Indian vanilla T-XX as well as...

    Nag anti-tank Missile

Crossbows are still in limited use among SFs by similar logic of situational advantage. No offence... You know more than me on this & make valid points, but I'm gonna trust more on words of actual veterans who got ineffectively shot with 3rd gen ATGMs on their tanks (unlike Indian ones who've...

    Nag anti-tank Missile

But why not distribute those dozen missiles to 4-6 BMP2s?.. They need ATGMs. Why seperate Namica? And 3rd gen SAMHO for jeep-mounted ATGM teams only works on older/unupgraded tanks without laser-sensors. Its guidance beam will alert modern tank's crew & give them exact direction, they'll pull...

    Nag anti-tank Missile

Amogha-3 unveiled, but never trialed indicating minimal progress (@porky_kicker can tell you more). Also none were wire-guided. BMP-2 will carry ATGM already. Why not mount 2 Nags on them all. Less chance of getting taken out than a losing a dozen (6 out 6 in) missiles when (not even if) the...
