I agree with you, if available we should buy some 40 odd units, 2 Sqn will reduce our stress on falling no's and give us more breathing time to get our act together on MK-2 & AMCA. Similarly we should go for another 2 Sqn of Miraj 2000 from France, they are phasing out M2K's from their nuclear...

All the original participants of MMRCA tender will probably participate in new MMRCA tender...... which going by IST will take min a decade to close and get the planes delivered... may be two decades to complete the full order..... and they will have useful life of.... I wonder how many year...

My two paisa worth thoughts on new tender for MMRCA..... When dust settles, what we will get is Rafael's and lots of them.... most likely 40-54 Rafale M for Navy.... & may be 32 more for IAF, Rafales will have major advantage as in this new tender they will offer, planes equipped with Kaveri...

Last evening an IAF AN-32 made an emergency landing at Ranchi at around 6:00 PM, reportedly aircraft had an engine failure. All 25 on board & the aircraft is safe..

This order for 2 squadrons of Su-30MKI is it pending deliveries from 272 ordered or is it additional 2 Sq. Anyone has any information ?
