I don't know what is a super Scorpene. A Scorpene with AIP? Or a Short fins Barracuda (developped with australian funds :clap2:) ?

SSK with Li ion battery and/or fuel cell... may have a long time under water (several weeks) but never, never with a sustain speed as SSN. The sole asset of SSK is their silence, but some SSN has a "silent mode" without the use of internal pump in a low energy mode. Nothing can replace a SSN.

S80.... are you serious ? It is late, over weighted, over budget and with a US weapon system..... All other proposal is better.

Not sure of that. The list of IN wishes, by priority : 1) SSN 2) SSK with AIP and cruise missile 3) SSK but India only have money for option 3.....

    Project-75I class SSK Submarines

It's not a Naval Group made sub. It's an indian product built with some french key components. So ask Mazagon.

The leaks was only about marketing datas. Already said 1000 times. Low tech sharing? Source please? There was a contract and there was no complain about a hiatus. Cost overrun? source? Expensive? Do you want to compare with your S80, built on Scorpene datas (nearly stolen...) and finished...

    Project-75I class SSK Submarines

A sub built in the 90's has not the same systems and safety than another built in the 60's. And difficult to compare a classical sub, with a well known weakness at the schnorkel system, with a nuclear one.

In the US or french case they are quite old. Koursk, a brand new sub, is recent. Amur sub is a failure.

    Indeed.... Koursk, K8, K27, K219, K278, K429.... :clap2:

Best is to have Li-ion AND AIP.

    Project-75I class SSK Submarines

Yes and no. If you need a sub able to track a carrier cruising at 20 knots without clear datas on its position, a SSK even with AIP will be short, so not cost effective. The best solution is probably to have the two.... Russia and China chose that, but not USA. Note that USA has the best...

    Project-75I class SSK Submarines

Yes, but only at a very small speed (ie 3 weeks at 4 to 5 knots, more or less). A SSN can travel at +/- 25 knots for weeks (but at those speed it is probably blind due to hydrodynamic noise).

    Project-75I class SSK Submarines

SSK are more silent, far less costly, but less max speed and far less average speed. And the support cost of a SSN is also more important.

    Project-75I class SSK Submarines

For a defense purpose, and with ennemy not too far, classical subs remain a deadly option. SSN are inconparable in deep blue sea, for active hunt.

NO. The stolen info was about marking datas. Something very common. And each sub has its own signature, because every single default or production tolerance alter the noise signature.
