Look at the degree of movement of the all-moving vertical tail fin. I think to give J-20 maneuverability they gave front fins. Which decrease it's frontal stealth but because of maneuverability with WS-15 J-20 will be able to take on dog fights.

J-20 will take 10-15 years to mature. F-22 is already a matured program. F-35 is even more mature. China is behind in avionics department (but there is still tons of different things provided in J-20 for situation awareness and all.) It's interesting to see how J-20 as a fighter grows.
