Ignoring the point about difference in specs, the main advantage is that the Mig29K is currently flying while NLCA Mk-2 will take a long time to even test fly. Hell we are currently working on getting NP-2 in the air while NP-1 has just had 4 test flights...and these are Mk-1's. Now assuming...
