    HAL Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv

A helicopter optimised for High altitude cannot fly at sea level on the same transmission without facing problems related to severe vibrations. That's a pure design issue. Now, ALH Dhruv's design is optimised for high altitudes mainly. Because HAL saw more orders coming from the Army and...

Key differences between BK-117 and ALH DHRUV Hinged vs HIngless 1727 kg vs 2502 kg empty weight 3350 kg vs 5500 kg MTOW 15000 ft vs 20000 ft ceiling etc. After the departure of MBB even before completion of the first phase of flight testing, it was HAL that made improvements and design...

Not 'only' but suffice for the matter. A consultant and a Design Partner are two different things. The source I mentioned in my earlier post clearly called it a Consultant. So says a lot about MBB's involvement in the project. Furthermore, MBB did not even complete its intended role in ALH...

    HAL Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv

Meanwhile my source (straight from Horse's Mouth). I don't think a lead designer or a design partner or a TOT supplier would ever be referred to as a Consultant. While I do not deny MBB's inputs in the overall design of ALH as a consultant. The fact remains that most of the suggested concepts...

    HAL Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv

Foreign design as an inspiration or in Blueprint? Did MBB provide detailed designs of BK-117 or details of preliminary studies of EC-145 HAL? The answer is no. MBB was only interested in trying out feasibilities of its own ideas in ALH(Dhruv). So they persuaded HAL to integrate these with...

Navy is not onboard Rudra project. Also i don't think if it is even interested in LHC for it's LHDs as speculated earlier.

Model of Navy's NUH compliant HAL Dhruv. Is Navy considering it?

    HAL Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv

Good idea. But four engine won't be that fuel efficient because of lot of dead weight in form of repeated parts. I think it would be better if we design our IMRH with an engine similar/same to the winner of NMRH. And at later stage replace it with an uprated variant of HTSE.

    HAL Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv

Rudra is a multirole helicopter being built for specialised roles like C-SAR which includes special forces interdiction and support all bundled in a single platform. LCH on other hand is an attack helicopter optimised for attacking targets at high altitudes, though it can be very much employed...

    HAL Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv

HAL wanted to sell entire Dhruv production program including MRO to a private sector. But no one showed interest hence this new production line was created. So much for private sector cry.

This presentation by ex IAF TP clears a whole lot if not all regarding wide range of questions regarding ALH. That especially with regards to claim about forces preparing SQRs (for indigenous products) as a sum total of ten different brochures (watch between 5:45 and 9:20).

    HAL Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv

A deafening slap to Dhruv critics. As speculated earlier this chopper eventually saved two precious lives. Out of anything this incident was a perfect demonstration of Dhruv's superior design, particularity in safety department. On other side. One thing which this incident highlighted...

    HAL Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv

Yes i do. For it, i have very simple and straight forward reason. And that is, i have all the reason in the word to believe what have been publicly reported by free media of a free and democratic nation than to your words. On the other hand, to me, your words gives impression that you might be...

    HAL Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv

Don't know from where you are bringing SHAKTI into it. On cancellation of the contract. Well, it was widely reported that contract was canceled because Eurocopter had fielded CIVILIAN variant not a military variant. This in addition to other irregularities lead to the the cancellation. Did i...

To what and whom, you exactly are referring to? If you are pointing towards LOH deal and cancellation of Eurocopter on technical grounds. Then you should know that neither of the contender satisfied the forces. Yet they went for Eurocopter because they didn't had the choice and time...

JAA and FAA are not mandatory for Indian Airspace, only DGCA certification is mandatory. And, as far as Indian forces are concerned, here, you should know that they want CEMILAC certification before induction, not JAA, FAA or others. Just an information. Turkey is buying three DHRUV(MEDVAC)...

Some people really enjoy DHRUV bashing!...... Reports are coming on both 'PRO' and against..... Nothing is going to happen unless investigation is over. BTW Turkey is also buying three DHRUV(Air Ambulance). Question is, are they wrong too? I don't think so. May be a NATO ally should consult...
