    The only limiting factor to the Akash shooting down an SR-71 is the altitude. The plane is not going to do Mach 3 unless its above 20km. And at those altitudes, the Akash ramjet will fail due to the thinness of air. However, if the SR 71 is below lets say 15km, it is possible to shoot it down...

    I dont disagree with the how good the plane was. Only that the Akash shooting it down cannot be ruled out. You must remember that the Akash is a highly networked system. As the plane gets out of range of one missile, it comes within the range of another.

    meh, with the right weapons anything can be shot down. btw, the blackbird did not need to get shot down. 40% of the planes decided to crash without any enemy around.
