United Kingdom is a third rate power

ScalieBack, while you are discussing, may I request you, when you get an opportunity, to go to this thread (click) and comment on the SA80? We would like to know as much as we can from a person who has had first hand experience, something that we cannot get off the internet.

United Kingdom is a third rate power

^^ Quite obvious. It was always in my mind that the order was: USA, Russia, PRC, India. I wasn't sure about 5th spot.

United Kingdom is a third rate power

Honestly Ray Sir, personally, I think India is like Teflon. No matter what people splatter at it, not much seems to stick!

United Kingdom is a third rate power

I dunno man! I'll let Ray Sir and ScalieBack explain that to you better. For all I care, there is a cheap beer available here called Olde English! Now that's some old English! :)

Will keep that in mind. Here in the US (well, in the South), "Yo" is very common. You can also be called a "dawg," and "bro" which though, sounds more like "bra."

United Kingdom is a third rate power

"What ho?" - now that is amusing! BTW, "ho" is a common way to attract the attention of a stranger, even in parts of India. Anyway, it reminds me of, "Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum!" It was some Treasure Hunt story I had read and there was a Spy Glass Inn, I think based out of Glasgow...

Old bean - ha ha ha! That was swell bud! New appendage to my urban vocab! Cheerio! There is no change in heart. (from my understanding) Politically, no, but culturally, yes, many of us are indeed pro-Britain.

Aptly put. Even Dido sings in a very Americanized accent these days! Dollar power baby! ;)

United Kingdom is a third rate power

Well, we may not have a very generous opinion about Britain as it is today, we do hold Britain of yester-years in high regard. Quoting Shakespeare or Wordsworth is a mark of finesse in India. I have never been to Britain, but I don't think many people do that there, as much as we do. We have...

United Kingdom is a third rate power

Trivia! Anyway, what is wrong with being British in language and grammar? Nothing wrong in absorbing what you perceive as good in others.

United Kingdom is a third rate power

'I' is a proper noun already, and you began your sentence with the same.

United Kingdom is a third rate power

You are perhaps correct. You, for your part, should consider capitalizing proper nouns and substantives. It is Ray, and British!

ScalieBack, Trust me, it is not only your right, but a sacred duty to defend your country. If someone gets abusive, you always have the option of reporting that post. Not everyone is the same kind. We get passionate, but we have to realize that this is just an internet forum, and no good can...

United Kingdom is a third rate power

JP, you are free to do whatever you want. I don't mean to be offensive, but I will share my thoughts and be very frank. Firstly, perhaps you could concentrate more on posting beyond one liners here at DFI first, and, inculcate a habit of supporting your arguments, so that the overall quality of...
