NAMCA is still a pipedream for now. Blend of NMRCA with NLCA MK2 are perfect for IAC-2, considering they want to float it by end of this decade.

We know about NMRCA p2p. Even a squadron should mean ~20 NLCA MK2. Are you suggesting IN will be completely rejecting NLCA post IAC1? No doubt NMRCAs are indispensable for IN. I don't believe IAC2 will be carrying anything beyond 60 fighters.

Can they re-develop Mig29K? Can they enhance it? Can they reduce its costs? Can Mig29K alone be parameter for IAC-2's deck size?

I think NLCA MK2' progress & current NLCA's results will also influence IAC-2's size. LCAs being small will allow IN to hook more fighters on AC.

Atleast 2 of the 12 Shivaliks are being built by MDL (including 1 complted.) Its a total 5+7 plan for shivaliks. Maybe construction of remaining batch of ships will be completed by other shipyards. As far as 15B is concerned, it just got approval for 4 ships. Not sure where the construction...

Obviously that is because IAC-2 design isn't finalized & so IN is yet to place the order. Once design is approved, order will be placed & maybe someother shipyard can be awarded with construction responsibility.

Interesting. Appears that CSL's modular techniques are not getting implemented any soon. It was supposed to construct 5 ACs in future. But its good if the IAC program load is shared between 2-3 shipyards.

IN's future fighter aviation will remain stable on 29K, NLCAs & NMRCAs. I don't think Harriers will be any good for upcoming carriers as they'll feature advanced catapults & ski-jump (IAC-1/Gorky). Also the current Harrier fleet is supposed to stay in service till 2023.

IN had such plan in mind over year ago but now it is dropped. They want heavy fighters & they want powerful catapults....

I have been waiting for the same all this month. And there is no word yet. Duh..! Sea trials might see delay eventually.

When we have 3 ACs, maybe 1 will be docking on for maintenance while 2 continue to operate. The idea is to have 5 ACs so that we can guard all 3 fronts with 3 carriers on active-duty.

I am happy for your skepticism & I'll leave it to you. BTW IAC-1 was started in 2008 & will be launched by year end. (Though it was delayed due to Russia's inability to provide AB/A grade steel but now SAIL has perfected & acquired that ability. ) Its a impressive timeline for aircraft...
