My idea of HCH comes from a fact that we would eventually have to fill our heavy combat helicopter role, unless u believe these are gonna be irrelevant in the upcoming decade. US military has lots of Helis for different role. Chinook, MH 60, UH 72, Super Stallion, V22: Transport/Utility Viper...

Maybe through PPP models some funds can be raised. Look spending in indigenous product recharges our own economy. Better than buying more apaches where every rupee spent goes to America.

Also more electronics, armour and weapon. We have to replace those MI 35 after all. And than there's export potential if HAL can get it's shit together.

Ayy after this is done we should move on to HCH(Heavy combat Heli). Maybe a mid life upgrade for LCH , remember its still flying on an underpowered engine.

How is corruption in the Defence even excusable? And why is the system enabling these type of people. This should be punishable by death. Why aren't we scouting to look for these criminals? Tap their phone calls monitor their emails find them somehow.

Is HAL, DRDO, BEL working on any of these? Private ones like Data Patterns, Alpha design, VEM can give it a go if DRDO is looking to partner up for R&D

Sir it's Army Job to buy weapons that have passed their basic specifications. Weapons can be fastracked no problem. If u place order now it will be take at least 1 years before a single squadron is formed, by that time all its weapons will be ready. Guns and Rockets are already done as for ATGM...

Jusy order a good 100+ for army and 50+ for Air force. We should then gradually move on to HCH platform to fill the gaps of Mi 35 that are gonna retire soon.

@mist_consecutive Say we try to capture Gilgit where do u think Pakis will position themselves. There will be multipel points of Incursion throughout the borders, they would have to occupy some important positions if they have to defend an area. A mountain Ridge overlooking a road, bridge...

HAL Prachand - Light Combat Helicopter (LCH)

Didn't know anything about this, I assumed a heavy heli would have a hard time at gaining speed. But weren't these tactics used to make up for the lack of accuracy in the helis. Now a hellfire would do the job of a single rocket pod. I drew my conclusion mostly based on this...

LCH can have multiple roles. During kargil war mi 17 were used to launch rockets at Paksitani posts. This of course was a bad idea because they were huge slow without any counter and not so Manuvervale. If another such situation arise LCH can be used to level a post on heights like this...

At the end of the day it is only likely that US developed system will be miles ahead of Indian. The Bell Cobra fighter helicopter series has over 13 variants and has served for over 5 decades. U can say that the helicopter has maxxed out on it's capability.
