And all these guys are crying over economy when trade is a very small part of Indian economy unlike China which is largely dependent on trade and can be screwed big time.

India is not so export dependent. And btw no one here is suggesting to go for war- CSD means war while bombing few targets is not war. You missed whole point of this thread.

Really. After a Mumbai style attack if India goes and hunts down few Paki buggers, the world would be worried about India!! Soft and hard power go hand in hand. Russia and India are similar size but Russia doesn't give a damn about world opinion.

Bhai, balkanization is a separate strategy we should work on. The above surgical strike doctrine is different and can be used at same time and is just a disinformation tool to blunt the Paki nuclear threat in case we decide to send some Su-30MKI there for fun.

Do you really think they will stop selling oil for some hypthetical situation which can arise and is just leaked out without any source of confirmation? Also, they cannot lose a big customer like India. So show some spine!

It loses its value if kept confidential. That should be out in the open for others to stop Pak from nuclearizing the conflict.

Excellent post. Given India is in much better position to absorb collateral damage both in terms of men and material, it should be the obvious choice.

USA- in Afghan case did not have clear tactical superiority over USSR China- does not have it either over India Israel- less said the better about that puny little state which cannot go to war with all foes all the time

Terrorism is a policy of weak state, which cannot win in traditional war. India has tactical and numerical superiority over Pak and can hit them hard. Force projection is not such a bad idea.

It was the Israel strategy. I do not know how much it helped. It was shown in the movie- Munich. Yes, it is good as revenge but does such actions serve national purpose is not so clear.

Given lack of spine of GoI on such matters, even CSD is a non-starter. And hence we need something milder which can at least be implemented. Till then, develop assets in Pak.

Yes, CSD means full scale war. Surgical air-strikes mean no war but strong message to Pak just like BSF shelling Pak after every ceasefire violation. And if after surgical strikes, Pak wants a war then why not, we can still use CSD.

In case of surgical air-strikes, the identity will not be much use for Pakis. Thanks to such strike: 1) It will settle down "aman ki asha" type brigade 2) Pro-active Indian policy will make Pak think twice before next such attack It is better than CSD because there would be no war unless Pak...
