Believe me, the level of component expertise needed at the armoury level to even request such an upgrade does not exist in India anywhere. At most you might see individuals/units carry out upgrades on their own weapons with unit funds but any widespread program like SOPMOD Block-2 is not happening.

The time for HK416 is past. If we want the best available AR platform for our SFs, in today's world both the ARAD and the SIG MCX are far superior solutions.

If they are following general tactics surrounding such VVIP protection, these are the overt positions - meant to draw the fire of any attacker who might decide to take them out before attacking the protectee. The real sniper teams would be hidden...they won't be standing out in the open...

Para M4s are pretty old and haven't been upgraded, the handguards don't have a lot of real estate. They're perfectly 'fine' to use & will be for a long time, but SOFs shouldn't be operating by that logic - they're not infantry. A short-stroke piston design like the ARAD would considerably...
