Folding stock was always there - even on vanilla AK-103 its there. Collapsible meaning length-adjustable, like this:

That's right - I missed that. The provision to mount the rails has been made, but no rail is actually mounted.

This is new config? @abingdonboy @johnny_baba 12'o clock rail on handguard is back, the 'ledged' fire selector is back. Only deviation from original 203 seem to be the non-collapsible stock & old magazine.

For some reason none of the vehicles being developed by Indian companies for IA look good. Some of them look outright ugly in fact. Only one that looks pretty good is the Mahindra ALSV - glad we bought a ~1000 of them.

No I mean where is that list from? ~1500 FAT trucks can't be for IAF, neither I think they have use for 900 LBPV. However, even though Ashok Leyland LBPV is in service with IAF, the term "LBPV" is used for other vehicles as well, we can't assume it will be same ASL one as IAF:

This is for IA sure? I thought only IAF was interested in LBPV.

If the barrel length is shorter than 16" or if the overall length is shorter than 26", and the gun has a stock, then its an SBR. This requires registration with ATF and a $200 tax stamp. If it has no stock, then regardless of barrel length or overall length its a pistol. Whether it has a...

Pretty impressive how it never fails to clearly distinguish the soldier & his equipment from the background, regardless of bodyheat difference...even the radio aerials are not missed. Machine Learning gentlemen, can teach software to do a lot of things previously thought impossible for...

That's the Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP), known in US Army service as Army Combat Uniform (ACU) pattern. The ECWCS clothing kits came from US, so in that camo. But US Army doesn't use this anymore, they switched to Multicam-based OCP.

The PKs to the best of my knowledge are only used by SFs. The intention of procuring Mk.48s (SOCOM version of Minimi 7.62) from US is indeed to replace the Pikka. So whenever they come, they'll begin the process of replacement. SVD will stay on longer probably. The Victrix Scorpios have only...

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

A lot of people seem to think the adoption of 3 different calibres of assault rifles is going to create a huge new logistical problem, the reality (purely in terms of depot-level logistics lines) is a bit more nuanced. There isn't so much of a 'new' logistical problem as there is an 'ongoing'...

What the fcuk is up with those pouches  dunno who's idea to have velcro on pouches themselves...but really loving that low-vis IA insignia patch. Really wish IA infantry entirely does away with bright colours on epaulettes etc. for field uniforms. Madras Regmt for example has bright...

Limited inventory most likely. The optics are not service-issued but rather acquired by battalion funds. So can only be procured in small batches at a time.
