Don't know if it penetrated any structure on the post. But the posts have lot of open area. Pakis too have somewhat similar posts or small picquets. A lot of opportunity for a sniper.

This is such a powerful weapon that its scope would injure the eye if mounted too close due to the recoil.
There are few videos on YT where Barret M 82 did the same with few.
