Polaris for desert as well ? Seems like IA really likes Polaris.

Ah, so we meant LMG ammo. Btw what is the correct grain count to be fired from Sig & Negev ? How that is different from our Bren LMG ammo ?

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

Really? I thought they imported 7.62mm for Sig & Negev just like they imported 5.56 for Tavors. By MMG ammo, do you mean 7.62 X 51mm manufactured for FN Mag?

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

An officer needs to show he is an officer, different from filthy NCOs. They must maintain the shine on their boots. Peak British colonial legacy hangover running in forces.

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

The most standardized soldier regarding uniform I have seen to date for the Indian Army. Side Note: This seems to be the new standard winter jacket for the Indian Army. Better than these fluffy padded jackets which were easily damaged by sharp objects.

Kept in reserve in general, some handed over to CAPF & Police.

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

After the massive success of Ukrainian tractors against Russian armored vehicles, IA also employs deadly tractors against Pakistan. Tractors & bullets are benign civilian equipment ubiquitous across almost every farming village in India. Your enemy sees a tractor plowing the field and then get...

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

The more I see our camo, the more I like it. Perfect for jungle, temperature forests, and grasslands. But will struggle in the desert background. @Spadex the minimalistic shoulder ranks are a relief, but can't get away with red collar stars.

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

You sure ? You are an enemy sniper at 1500m looking at this. Just ignore the fact that officers are generally at the front of the photoshoot, can you identify which one to target first? Hint:- Something red at the collar.

Arjun Mk1 operational with the 12th RAPID Division (Battle Axes). IAF & IA commanders in the new uniform. Interesting modular bunker concept using these bags. I remember few people were talking about these a few days ago.

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

Makes no sense to buy foreign when the indigenous option is available. Also, Mp9 is used in small numbers, plus no issue of logistics (9mm ammo is common for pistols also).

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

Seems like this might be exclusive to Special Forces only. The airforce's order (for Garud most probably) confirms the same I think.

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

Since Army will be supplying uniforms to troops, expect at least 1 year of time to see visible change at ground-level units. The army is yet to finalize the private entity that will manufacture the uniform, and thereafter material procurement stitching, and supply will take a minimum of a year...
