Re: Xiaomi Malaysia To Only Sell 4000 Units Of The MI 3 At Launch On 5

I just now bought one MIui3 cellphone ,at the price of 1750RMB.
http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a2 ... 6431:27772

it costs me 1750RMB, only about 50% of Samsumg S5 or 40% of Iphone5 but it not only looks quite cool, but also performances better than Samsumg S5 and Iphone5
it just proves one thing: S5 and Iphone 5 are over priced .
Samsumg will be asskicked as Nokia ,if the situation keeps on.

BTW,
as the VIP of CHina mobile , I will be gifted one Iphone5 or S5 every in 2 months by CHina mobile, but I would rather keep using the Miui3,because:
1. I would rather keeping using andriod,insteading of studying apple's new system;
2. I feel Samsumg cellphone with cheap plastic shell looks quite ugly and low-end. Minu3 looks much cooler.
Xiaomi's tablet, Android based, is up for trial this June.

Here's a comparison with "iPad Mini with retina" which Xiaomi aims to compete with

Sharp price at ï¿¥1499 for 16GB, ï¿¥1699 for 64GB only.

I only use iPad occasionally and am no techie. Also what's your comment @nimo_cn u sound in telecom.

I am working with a Chinese telecom, but i am not a fan of electronic products. However, i would like to put in some of my observations.

Xiaomi is a successful company. Being able to grow into what it is today, the founder of the company certainly masters the art of Internet marketing, that is why I am gonna call Xiaomi an Internet company instead of a smartphone manufacturer. Xiaomi has re-defined the way of selling cellphones, and is making a change to Chinese cellphone industry. Xiaomi designs its products based on the ideas it gathers from the direct interactions with its fans, so Xiaomi's products are easy to use and have enormous customer loyalty. Its unique way of marketing saves a lot of money and enables Xiaomi to sell its products at a very low price without damaging the quality.

I can only comment Xiaomi's products that we are selling like Red Mi, which is very cost effective and extremely popular.

you mean HTC one? nice choice, but it wont make Huawei Ascend P7 any less excellent.

In less than 5 years, HTC is gonna collapse.

Why Lenovo bought Motorola and not HTC - The Times of India
A "gospel" is nothing in fact has happened with Motorola or Blackberry. So still possible for approaching HTC. Then HTC may still survive or just fade out like Motorola or Nokia.

BTW your earlier post seems to hint Xiaomi is good at marketing but not so in innovation?! Nevertheless if its tablet indeed gets released at RMB1499/1699 with those edges it advertises over iPad Mini with Retina then it must have a niche in cost effectiveness.

Being taken over by its counterparts from mainland could be the best option for HTC, most likely by Lenovo.

Internet marketing is the key to Xiaomi's success, that is something innovative. And the way Xiaomi designs phone is also very impressive, with very limited product lines Xiaomi becomes one of the most successful cellphone companies, every phone it releases has been a big hit.

However, Xiaomi doesnt own what makes a great cellphone company, something we Chinese call "the core technology". It designs phone, but the phone runs on Google's OS, features Qualcomm's processor and Sony's camera sensor.

Of course, it's the same with many Chinese cellphone manufacturers, but most of them are not as successful as Xiaomi. What separates Xiaomi from them is Internet marketing, that is why call Xiaomi an Internet company, rather than a cellphone manufacturer.

Huawei is quite the opposite of Xiaomi.

Huawei makes great cellphones. If you have used one of them, you will find out it always has better signal reception than other phones.

But Huawei's phones used to have unpleasant appearances and horrible user interface, that doesnt change until Huawei launches the Ascend P series. P6 alone sold 4 million units worldwide, which in my opinion is quite impressive.

Tried to explain this part to your fellow compatriot CPC but I guess he has got some issue with his ego.

Xiaomi has great specs and so does samsung but the issue is Android operating system are designed by keeping google products in mind.
Xiaomi lacks in software area and hence even after having killer specs in it's new generation phones it can't outperform the new generation nexus devices.
