Panetta: 2 U.S. Army Brigades to Leave Europe

The U.S. Army will withdraw two combat brigades from Europe, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Jan. 12... About 40,000 soldiers - and about 100,000 dependents - are now stationed in Europe, most of them in Germany. Among them are four brigade combat teams, three in Germany and a fourth in Vicenza, Italy.
