The authors of "Chinese and Indian Strategic Behavior" say the rise of both China and India is not a good thing for the U.S. The WSJ's Deborah Kan speaks to China Editor Andrew Browne.

When did we doubt it? India will rise because India is strong, if India ever fails/falls it will be because of our own weaknesses. A strong India will never tolerate any competitor in her backyard, which includes USA as well. As far as China is concerned it is our neighbour, and we will have to live with this fact.

i don't see any conflict of interest between India and USA in future.we will co exist just like UK, Israel, other western countries do as friends.

There is difference between living as master and slave and living as friends.

pakis will not understand this as they always lived as slaves, looking for AID all the time.

Economically strong India will be good friend of USA and western world all we need is strong leaders

Before Indians discuss such assumptions one must note that such articles are getting published more frequently and many Chinese have been found talking for India. Just yesterday I read an article quoting Chinese analysts that ~ India will not side with USA at the cost of China.
