Talwar frigates are multirole . It come handy containing pak navy. Easy maintenance and cheap to operate. It more like specifically for handle any operation in arabian sea. On other hand shivalik are for broader threat in eastern theatre.

Talwar is an Overkill for Pakistan. Khoras and Khukris are enough. Armed with Brahmos, Shitl SAM (Had a Tu 22 Kill in Russian-Georgian War) Range 50 Km, 1 ASW /AWEC Helo, RBU 6000, Torpedos. Can work as a One Man Ship. That's the Best Part.

We don't have to send a flotilla to hunt Paki subs. Just park a Kamorta in the theatre of operation. The Helos will detect it and beat the shit out of the Sub. The ship does not have to chase the sub.

We don't have to send a flotilla to hunt Paki subs. Just park a Kamorta in the theatre of operation. The Helos will detect it and beat the shit out of the Sub. The ship does not have to chase the sub.

We are already building 3 Kolkata class DDGs. The Talwars are on order from Russia because Indian shipyards are already overbooked for at least a couple of years

Already happening. Psu are signing jv with private yards. We will see increasing in their activity in coming yrs. They are in learning curve.

The first Kolkata was scheduled to enter service on 2010 right? and now it is almost 2013 and it is still soaked in water, the main power plant is not installed yet, don't tell me you are gonna cut the deck open and do it later, the pictures posted above are not most updated though, these are the most current take.but see even the main mask is there, there is no radar.

Average time Chinese, Korean or Japanese shipyard used to build a destroyer is 3 years, Kolkata has used up nine years and still not delivered, who is to blame?
