Maharashtra Congress chief Manikrao Thakre is in trouble for his reported conversation with party leader Satish Chaturvedi over the collection of money for the Sevagram rally to be addressed by Congress chief Sonia Gandhi today.

Nothing unusual.

It is well known that all these 'spontaneous' rallies are 'sponsored' by the moneybags of India with a little bit of 'persuasion'.

These are 'incidental expenditures for services'. However, there is no VAT or Sales and Excise Tax added!

The Political Party is immaterial. They are all birds of the same feather!

Sir, this is a well known fact in our country but what takes the cake is the brazen way this is being discussed. It is very clear that the party in return for tickets and portfolios expects a return of investment.
The IT dept. should take note of this and issue notices to all the MLAs who have contributed Rs 10 lacs each. the replies would be quite interesting.

Are you surprised? These moolin' yarns have been suckin' the public coffers dry ever since they came to power! ..

It's a good thing we Indians bank on our government for so very little. No pun intended...

I'm glad this sting was conducted on Manikrao Thakre and Chathurvedi. The fact that each of them contributed upward of 50 lakh tells you what a bunch of thwacks they are. Wardha, by the way, has some rich cotton farmers and a pretty high literacy rate. I hope they realize the bunch of cheattards they've got in power...

Yes, brazen they all are.

Why do criminals join politics? Gawli and the like? And why inspite of murder charges, swindling and all other heinous acts, these politicians roam free with an air that they are the Lord of Tartary and Little Lord Fauntleroy ?

Being an MP, MLA and more so, a Minister, gives one a blanket of security (and I am not talking of the cosmetic effect that they crave for with Black Cats protecting these pathetic chaps). If such a blanket wraps around their insignificant and depraved souls, then why should the care about law and why should they not be brazen?

Have you not seen that hardly any politician is ever jailed?

Why does Laloo pay homage to the powers that be and why does Mayawati huffs and puffs and yet becomes a purring cat, when someone just reminds her that it is better to purr and instead of wagging the tongue with vitriol, it is better to wag the fat tail indolently and with easy and measured swishes?!

Guess?

It is said that Lallu had said that - Sab kehte hai ki main chara khaya hun. Lekin sab bhool jate hain kih main Bihar ko Rabri diya hai!
Or words to that effect

The politicians are not only brazen they are shameless and without any morals.

The way they are horse traded with astronomical sums is an adequate reminder of the type of people who join politics.

Rajiv G tried to stop this mess, but his work continues to be mocked with all sorts of sleight of hand and these blokes talk of the Constitution and the Legal system to justify the immorality most foul!

Every time these type of immorality occurs and it is justified loftily with sham morality, it reminds me of a vernacular lesson where Alexander turns to Seleucus and says - Ki bichitro desh eta, Seleucus! (What an extraordinary country this is, Seleucus!)

Alexander was dazzled by India. I remain frazzled!

Ray Sir,

You have made a very valid point in above posts the reason why India is a success story is that we Indians bank so little on the Govt. It is the spirit of the ordinary citizen that is propelling this country.
