$3 billion for them to buy weapons from us only... I never saw that coming. You can't buy too much AF or Navy equipment with that, but they could totally requip the army and air corps on the French model. That was some brilliant maneuvering by Holland to get SKA to fight Syria by giving us a $3 billion dollar order for Lebanon. :thumb:

There is arms embargo placed on Lebanon in which they cant buy air defense and other heavy weapons

It would be interesting to see from which country Lebanon will get the equipment .

The line of credit is exclusively for France...

BEIRUT — Saudi Arabia has pledged $3 billion for the Lebanese army to buy equipment from France, Lebanese President Michel Sleiman announced on Sunday.

With the influence of the Hezbollah diminishing in Lebanon after the withdrawal of the Syrian forces and the rise of the Sunni power, assisted by Saudi Arabia, it is no surprise that Saudis would like to strengthen the Lebanese Army so that it can take on the influence of any Shia forces like the Hezbollah to make its presence felt.

The Saudis feel that they are the sole custodian of the Sunni faith of Islam and hence do everything to degrade the influence of Shias everywhere in the Islamic world and in countries where Muslims are sizeable in numbers.

As far as Hollande's visit, the French feels obligated to feel incorrectly that ex French administered territories are still French possessions.

Therefore the interest in booting forces that are pro West so that Lebanon does not leave the sphere of influence!

Hezbullah wants Lebanese army to get weapons and made a bold statement that they arsenal will be the arsenal of Lebanese army in case of any war and after that only Americans, Russians started selling weapons to Lebanese army and now even French are ready to sell equipment to Lebanese army .

Yes there is sectarian conflict among Muslims and is waged on many fronts but in case of Lebanon things are very complex . But really its shocking to see that French will again be back in Lebanon . Seems UAE will even in some days will say that they are going to buy Rafale fighters after the Brazil rejected it .

Saudi's are after Syrian regime and its clearly visible .

The sectarian conflict is historical and actually rather unfortunate being very odd when the religion followed is the same.

It is the fall out of Political Islam and that continues till date.

The Saudis are perpetuating it as if they are the sole custodians of Islam!

There are no sole custodians of Islam but the thing is this as holy sites are in Arabia because of this only Saudi Arabia status is there as the Arabian tribes support them and you are completely right that Political Islam is as much as dangerous as Political Christianity, Political Judaism and Political Hinduism and all these political religion are making things hard for ordinary followers in all the religions and all the nations .

Ray sir, is there any way we can bring back Deccani? He actually has good discussions.

Lebanon needs to destroy Hezbollah, it is in the interest of SKA and France after they killed our peacekeepers. Now they will feel the end of death Made in France.

I too checked on his sudden disappearance.

He has done a technical error of having duplicate IP (Banishment Thread) and since we apply equal actions irrespective of personalities, nothing that I know of, really can be done.
