Al Qaeda Urges Muslims In India To Mount Lone Wolf Attacks: Report
NEW DELHI: A regional branch of al Qaeda urged Muslims in India to revolt and carry out lone wolf attacks, a US monitoring site reported, days after the rival jihadi movement ISIS claimed responsibility for Bangladesh's worst militant attack.

The call by al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) follows warnings by security officials and experts that the two groups are trying to outdo each other in the region and claim the mantle of global jihad.

An online audio message purportedly from Asim Umar, the head of AQIS, said Indian Muslims must follow the example of youths in Europe and strike against Indian police and senior officials, holding them responsible for communal violence. "Start Jihad with the strength which Allah has already granted you. Kill the senior officers of institutions and administrative departments that get (people to) start these riots," AQIS said, according to U.S. intelligence group SITE.

Reuters could not verify the authenticity of the recording.

In it, AQIS said Muslims were present in every part of India and must use their strength to reclaim power in a country they ruled for centuries.

Since its formation in 2014, AQIS has been trying to incite attacks, but India's Muslims, who number more than 160 million, have been largely unmoved. Only a handful are known to have tried to join ISIS, according to Indian officials.

An Indian interior ministry spokesman said he had seen media reports about the latest warning from al Qaeda, but he had no immediate comment to offer. Security agencies were aware of the matter, he added.

Both Al Qaeda and ISIS have claimed a series of killings in Bangladesh over the past year, attacking liberals and foreigners. On Friday, militants stormed a restaurant in Dhaka and killed 20 people, most of them foreigners, in an attack claimed by ISIS.

Bangladesh's government has long denied the involvement of foreign Islamist groups in the violence, but some security experts said the restaurant attack undermined that position. "I think it demonstrates that competition between AQ and the ISIS isn't necessarily a good thing, as ISIS in Bangladesh clearly planned and attack that would outdo al Qaeda in terms of carnage and international attention," said Thomas Joscelyn, a senior editor at The Long War Journal that tracks global jihadi groups.

My view: They are trying to create unrest in Bharat. Don't know how authentic this report is. They know by this statement communities will feel provoked. Molvis in deoband and shahi Imams must counter this statement. And NDTV must be told to behave and do not spread rumours.

So? Idiots are these unwashed arabic Mullahs. They have been saying this for quite many years. Indian Muslims do have few crazies who may fall for them, but largely they have stayed clear from these jokers and even opposed them.

these kinds of news must not become headlines. It's like NDTV is spokesperson of theirs..

They should not behave immature.

Indian media is a loose cannon.
It must be brought under control immediately, a matter of national security, it is.

Also a law needs to be passed that holds the nearest family members responsible for acts of terrorism.
This will be a deterrent.

Daesh has already set foot in India. Impoverished and backward masses in a suppressed environment provide the best breeding grounds for terrorists.

You should never have allowed Saudi influx in Kerala and other states. just wait and see how wahabism can redicalize your Muslim population.

Your obsession with Pakistan willcost you dearly. Daesh is responsible for lone wolf kind of attacks in major cities around the globe and you are desperate to link it to ISI. Not sure if I should be happy or sad about it.
Daesh has already entered India, hope you realise before it's too late.

No you are wrong, Pakistan is gate way for any terror outfit to enter India through its logistic support and training . If you ignore this fact you are delusional. If you believe it's Isis is responsible for yesterday's Bangladesh attacks ur fooling ur self. Even Bangladesh has been openly accusing Pakistan for yesterday attacks. Every time in ur reply u try to portray Pakistan as a holy place for sainthood. Isi is desperate to sprade propaganda that Alqeida and Isis wanted to attack India , so that it's off the hook from international pressure if any attacks take place.

I don't understand how come ur so sure it's otherwise.

The thing is people have tendancy to react.

For example if you say, well no one will drink water in front of a muslim, the non muslims will do the opposite.

It is known by a technical wordknown as some tyman or xyz affect. Its taught to media people and media in india so the politics use it a lot.

Dhaka attackers followed controversial Indian Islamic preacher Zakir Nayek

DHAKA: Two of the five Bangladeshi militants who hacked to death 20 people at a restaurant in Dhaka's diplomatic zone used to follow three controversial Islamists, including Indian Islamic preacher Zakir Nayek.

Militant Rohan Imtiaz, son of an Awami League leader, propagated on Facebook last year quoting Peace TV's controversial preacher Nayek "urging all Muslims to be terrorists", the Daily Star reported.

Bangladesh refutes Indian media reports claiming Pakistan's links to Dhaka attack

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion are seen outside the Holey Artisan restaurant, where gunmen had taken hostages, in the upscale Gulshan area of Dhaka, Bangladesh, July 2, 2016.

ISLAMABAD: Bangladesh on Sunday refuted Indian media reports claiming it blamed Pakistan for the recent Dhaka cafe siege which killed at least 20 people.

Terming reports by Indian media as ‘fake’, Adviser to the Bangladesh Prime Minister on International Affairs Professor Gowher Rizvi assured Islamabad Dhaka did not blame Pakistan for the attack.

A letter to Islamabad on behalf of Rizvi in fact urged all countries, including Pakistan, to help Bangladesh in its fight against terror.

The Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad issued a statement which quoted Rizvi as saying, “The statement issued by Indian media was ‘utter nonsense’ and that he has never issued any statement or spoken to any TV channel regarding the issue.”

“Professor Gowher Rizvi wanted me to convey this immediately to Islamabad so that there was no misunderstanding,” the letter read.

On Sunday, NDTV claimed the deadly terror attack was likely enabled by Pakistan’s premier spy agency ISI.

“Hossain Toufique Imam is the political adviser to Sheikh Hasina, the prime minister of Bangladesh. HT Imam told NDTVthat the manner in which the hostages, which included a 19-year-old Indian student Tarishi Jain, were killed with machetes suggests the role of a local terrorist group, the banned Jamaatul Mujahideen,” the report said.

Last week, armed militants had killed 20 civilians after taking them hostage in a Bangladesh cafe overnight and many of the victims were hacked to death, an army spokesperson said.

“We’ve recovered 20 bodies. Most them had been brutally hacked to death with sharp weapons,” Brigadier General Nayeem Ashfaq Chowdhury told reporters in Dhaka, without giving the nationality of the victims.

Thirteen survivors were also rescued at the end of the siege in an upmarket neighbourhood of the capital Dhaka, including three foreigners.

“Three of those who were rescued were foreigners, including one Japanese and two Sri Lankans,” said the spokesperson.

Pakistan terms allegations ‘baseless, irresponsible and provocative’

Meanwhile, Pakistan rejected on Monday allegations of involvement in the Dhaka terror episode as “baseless, irresponsible and provocative”.

In response to media queries regarding allegations of Pakistan’s involvement in the attack, FO spokesperson Nafees Zakaria stressed that “these are highly regrettable, irresponsible and provocative stories being carried in the Indian media. They are utterly baseless and unfounded. Pakistan strongly rejects such allegations.”

The spokesperson referred the media to the statement of adviser to Bangladeshi PM, refuting the Indian media story.

“Pakistan deeply appreciates Prof Gowher’s timely rebuttal to the Indian media’s reports. Pakistan has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Dhaka and expressed solidarity with the government and the brotherly people of Bangladesh and offered condolences and sympathised with the families of the victims,” Zakaria said.

“Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Being itself one of the biggest victims of terrorism, Pakistan welcomes Prof Gowher Rizvi’s call for international cooperation to fight the menace of terrorism,” he added.

Better worry about your own kind in your own terrorist shithole we know how to tame Hindustani Musalman.

Our unmarked graves have punjabi Muslaman, pashtoons, kashmiri etc we can surely accommodate Hindustani Musalman radicalized by IS.

Godhra and Muzzafarnagar riots were unfortunate but this time it would be a lesson for your kind.

it now looks as if bakistan itself has been perpetrating attacks on its citizens, as a 'cop out' tactic with the excuse, "but we're the biggest victims of terrorism ji!".......you parrot this everytime, you raise eyebrows. perpetrate an attack against India or elsewhere, then come back with the parrot-line, as well as instruct its tattus to carry out an attack on its own too, and claim, "see! we told y'all!"

BTW why no thread still on medina-blasts?!
