An interesting culture that the spolisport Communist Govt of China wants to trample on.

Funerals are expensive and so a large assembly become necessary since everyone who comes to the funeral presents a sum of money to the host – a funeral is a time to collect money and hopefully cover the cost of the service.

Further, all this will serve to uplift the morale and sorrow of the family which has lost its near and dear one.

    What do you feel?

If the custom means a big funeral crowd is also a class marker, much like a big wedding might be and they believe in it, then it would be a serious demoralising effect if they are not allowed to follow their historic custom and traditions.
